New 2010 FX4

Well I may have done something foolish with the 2011's on the lot's with there new powertrains but I went and bought myself a 2010 FX4 supercab. I thinks I got a pretty good deal at about 15k off the price. Either way it will be a welcome change from my 2000 7700 f150 i had.
Those darn new 5.0's sure sound nice though... next time

Anyway had to tell someone so thanks for listening. I pick it up tomorrow.

I would take a new 2010 over a 2011 every time if I could get $15k off. That is a good deal. I don't think you will be disappointed. I am very happy with my '09. The 5.4L is a good motor and has more than enough power for me.

Ditto that. No guinea pig motors for me.

I figure that Ford has been making the 4.6/5.4L since '97. The bugs are surely worked by now. Four new motors for '11? There will be issues for certain, and I prefer to not be in loaner cars month after month.

I just picked up '10 FX4 and thought I got a great deal with $10.5K off. $15K off? Awesome!

There is a lot of hype about the new engines (and for good reason), but there is nothing wrong with the 5.4L. They have more than enough power for anything a 1/2 ton is going to do, and still pull pretty good mileage. I've managed anywhere from 16-23 in my dad's '10. The $15k off is just icing on the cake.

15k saved!! Get some good tires, line-x, tints, nice stereo, tuner and some other goodies and stick 13k in your pocket and have a personalized truck!

Enjoy

Thanks for all the comments guys. I absolutely love my truck so far. The Ford Sync is a blast. The only negative thing i can say what a set of pitifull tires Ford put on something they call "off road"! Even my wheelbarrow has a more aggressive tire.
On the bright side the power and fuel mileage is incredible compared to my old 7700 4x4.
I'll try and get some pics up soon. The weather has been pretty crappy here so it's tough to keep clean.

One question...can we add ambient light after the fact? Mine doesn't have it and i thought it may be nice...

15K off? I'd be smiling all the way to the bank on that deal. You got a great truck at an awesome price.

Besides, every year the new model always has some new feature that is really neat, and you pay for it one way or another (i.e. higher cost or something that used be on the trucks is now gone, like the driver side grab handle gone since the '09 model year came out).

Come summer we'll be reading about all the great improvements coming on the 2012's, and so it goes.

I give you credit for recognizing a great deal and pulling the trigger on it.

So stop worrying about the 2011's. If you're really concerned, calculate out the payback on the difference in what you would have paid for a 2011 for the extra couple of MPG's and that will make you happy.

Yes, the 2011's might have more horses and torque, but people have been doing the job and having fun with the 5.4 equipped F150 for years. You should relax and do the same.

Now, please post some pictures.

The newer motor would definitely be nice but the 5.4 does what its supposed to do. I mean after all we are talking about trucks, not sport cars. The 2010 mustang owners are kicking themselves in the rear end alot more than the 2010 F-150 owners are. The 2010 F-150 isnt as fast as the 2011 but it can tow just as much, just may burn a little more fuel in the process......lol.
