Factory Bug Shield - leave it or get rid of it? (Pic)

My new 2010 came with this chrome bug shield. I need opinions, should I take it off or leave it on?

Leveling kit will be on soon.

Get rid of it, or at least try to darken it up and paint it.

Get rid of it and see if you can get a smoked one. They look so bulky on the 09's+ unfortunately. I like the look of the full hood ones like I have on my 04, but I searched the same one for the 09's+ and they look god awful. I just like how it protects your hood from minor debris

That was my thinking- that it stood out like a sore thumb.

Ford put that thing on good, double stick tape to hold the top from moving instead of
the rubber bumpers.

Yes they do... prevent chips from rocks. That's what I use mine for.

I don't think that came from the factory. It may be a dealer accessory. Put it in the classified section as an OEM chrome bug shield.

Have you noticed any hi-pitched wind noise (whistle) with that deflector. Radio off, around 45 to 60 mph. I have a stampede and its much wider style, tried all kinds of ways to eliminate the whistle, taped seams, sills, windshield window seams, still trying different things.

I bought it, to cover the top chrome piece so that would indicate I dont care for the chrome deflector. Other option is install the Harley grille but didnt want go that route, unless necessary. Local dealer stated many complaints with wind noise/whistle from deflectors. The style like yours apparently not a problem but wanted more feedback before I layout the bucks for a smoke colored one from Ford, if they even have one?

It's listed with the other factory options $130

No whistleing that I have noticed at any speed.

Hmmmmm.... I can see it helping the front part of the hood from being chipped but not the rest of the hood, windshield or the grille.

I just think the dork factor far outweighs the benefits.
