First F150

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!

I have recently purchased my First F150!!
I bought a 2010 XLT SuperCrew 4x4 with the 6.2 liter V8. Unbelievable truck!!
Until now I have driven Dodge but after the test drive I knew Dodge couldn't run in the pack!! Now I find myself wanting to customize my truck. I've been looking online everywhere trying to find a resonable price on a brush guard, nerf bars, and some after market wheels and tires. I know I want everything in black, my truck is the gold color and I just knew when I saw it that I had to do everything in black. Not sure though if I want to lift the truck or not. It sets up pretty good as is, and I think I can get a good set of Nitto's under there on 17 or 18" rims without a lift. Any thoughts? I have also been thinking about replacing the exhaust system on it as well. I like a bit more bark lol...

If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them!! And pictures of some of the trucks on here would be great for idea's too!!

Oh and one final thought before I go......Ford sells a factory 2 way remote start for the 2009 and 2010 for 240.00...pretty easy to install too...and you can program your panic button on your original key fov to work as the start/shut off button...I have read a couple of posts about the remote start issues on here so I thought I would throw that out there...

Hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

signing off for now from Wichita KS
God Bless

Pretty sure they didn't put the 6.2 into anything but the Raptor prior to the 2011 MY. And for 2011 they are only in the Lariat and up with the Max Tow Package.

Either way, congrats on the new truck.

You have the rarest 2010 XLT on the planet. I would not put any more miles on it; maybe vacuum seal it.

I'm going to give this person the benefit of the doubt and assume the 2010 is a typo but the XLT part......idk.

I'm from close to Wichita, I'd really like to see this truck. Where did you buy it? Mel Hambelton, Rusty Eck, Steven Ford, Lubbers?

I'm amazed how many people don't know what engine they have. I've recently been surprised to hear three of my friends say they don't know which V8 they have in their truck when I asked (all three were driving Chevy or GM).

No joke! My wife's friend's husband was bragging about their new to them 09 Tahoe with the "police interceptor package" and supercharger. Wow, I didn't know Chevy offered a police interceptor and sold it to civilians as well as put a blower on the 5.3. I made sure to ask if they had purchased this as a retired police vehicle. Nope, he said it was available to civilians. Also, he said it gets 29 mpg on the highway, as well as his 09 Ram 1500. Sure thing, buddy.

I know it is not worth arguing with an idiot because they will just bring you down to their level and beat you, so I pretty much left that one alone. I did, however, comment on how nice that supercharger must be given the stock 5.3 is kind of a dog.

Well I read the reply's on here so I went and got the specs I was given and here are the engine specs...

6.2L V8
Engine electronics Electronic ignition system, Power PC
Displacement (cu. in.) 379 CID
Horsepower (SAE net@rpm) 411 @ 5500
Torque (lb.-ft. @rpm) 434 @ 4500
Compression ratio 9.8:1
Bore x stroke (in.) 4.02x3.74
Main bearings 5
Valve lifters Hydraulic, roller rocker shaft
Fuel delivery Sequential multi-port electronic injection
Recommended fuel Unleaded regular
Fuel Economy 4x2 13 City/18 HWY 4x4 12 City/16 HWY
Exhaust Manifold Cast High Sil Moly
Transmission type Electronic 6-speed automatic with overdrive
Engine block material Cast iron
Cylinder head material Aluminum

I also know that when I had my truck serviced at Firestone here not to long ago they pulled my truck up and have it listed with the 6.2 as well.. I did go and look at the Ford.com 2010 build list and it doesn't list the 2010 with the 6.2. Kind of wierd, in the morning I am going to pop the hood and take a look and see what it has. I know this thing will pull the frame out from under it lol..I hooked up a 13' car hauler flat bed trailer and had a load on it and never felt it back there. My dodge couldn't have done that. And it pulls my boat like nothing is there. But anyway these are the specs I got from Rusty Eck when I bought it. I wanted to compare it aginst the new dodge and chevy I was looking at. There was no real comparison.

I don't know what to make of this one. I'd love to see the window sticker of it or a picture of the VIN label.
