SuperCrew bed length
I don't see a way to make a poll so I guess I will just post a question as to what the most popular bed length is being sold 5.5' or 6.5'. I am guessing more 5.5's. Of you with the 5.5' bed, do any of you carry full size motorcycles in it? Full size like a bagger Harley. It's gotta be tight.
In my experience:
8' bed = tail gate up.
6.5' bed = rear wheel in bed, tailgate cannot be closed.
5.5' bed = rear wheel on forward part of tailgate, possibly in gap.
(at least for a Dyna, R1200GS, and WR450F...regrettably none of which were mine.
Also I'm basing this on experience with GMC's, but bed lengths are bed lengths).

Just keep your eyes open when you drive. I'd say no more than 2 out of 10 SCrews I see on the road have the 6.5' bed.
Hell, I didn't even know you could get a 6.5' bed on the SCrew until maybe two years ago. They're just not very common...

I'd bed its even less than 20%, probably more like 5-10%. I see so few 6.5 foot SCrews. Didn't they start offering the 6.5' bed in 2004, or was it a little later?
I'm not saying nationwide but it must be the geographical area... 8 out of ten SCREWS on the dealer lots around here are 6.5's... as is mine.

Also, the easiest way to tell (for me) is to look at the space from the front of the bed/cab split to wheel well.
I personally like the look of the 6.5' better than the 5.5' (especially in a lifted 4x4 application). The shorter bed just looks puny back there.
JMO, I don't think a fullsize Harley bagger will fit in the back of a 5.5' bed. My Shadow wouldn't fit in the back of my Dakota unless the tailgate was down, and I had a 6' bed. My Shadow wasn't nearly as long as a fullsize Harley bagger. Should be able to fit a 6.5' bed but only with the tailgate down.

I'm going to need to run by a couple dealerships and check out the difference in appearance. I will be going back to a 4X2 and if anything I will lower it so maybe the shortbox will actually look better.
Thanks for the responses.
