Lol, not sure what being a crack head has to do with anything, but I'm glad it worked.

Yes there is. People on the other site have not seen a decline in TR, but some said they would probably just do it every 6months or so.

I mean it's free and it's not going to hurt anything so go for it.

And to those who are doubtful, just give it a try. In the newer trucks there seems to be some improvement and even so in the earlier models. I have a tune in my truck and noticed a little difference, but not as much as some others.

And also, make sure your gas pedal is not hitting the firewall either, and if it, fix it so that the gas can actually reach WOT.

Now start the engine and go for a test drive then report back here with your findings!

Here are the steps:

1) turn the key in the ON position (don't start the engine),
2) press the gas pedal down slowly all the way down,
3) let go of the gas pedal fast so it come back up,
4) turn key into the OFF position,
repeat steps 1-4 two more times then start engine.

This is called "The Diamondbird" mod after the screen name of the guy who 'invented' it over on another forum and it should work on ANY fuel injected vehicle...including your motorcycles!
I did it on my Tacoma work truck today and it actually made a difference with acceleration.. I was skeptical and didn't want to try it on my brand new F150 and I'm really surprised that it made a difference..

What does it actually do to the truck so the acceleration is better?

I found this on another site:

Throttle Calibration

Throttle calibration can substantially improve throttle responsiveness over "factory standard." Many people notice what appears to be sluggish throttle response or a "dead area" at initial accelerator depression. Throttle calibration can take care of these.
1) Insert ignition key and turn to "ON" (not start).
2) Wait for all idiot lights to go out. Check Engine Light may remain on.
3) Slowly depress the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor.
4) Slowly release the accelerator pedal until it's all the way back up.
5) Turn the ignition key to "OFF".
6) Start the engine.
Most drivers notice an immediate change in throttle response, but depending on your driving style, you may need to repeat this procedure periodically due to the computer's adaptive programming. You likely need to repeat this procedure any time the battery is disconnected.

Well I am glad to get a vet member like yourself's 'sign of approval'. I thought I might get flamed pretty badly for suggesting something so silly/easy as I did, lol.

I am not quite sure why it works (although there is a 12+page thread over on another forum that I can look thru to see) but almost 99% of the people who have tried it have shockingly got results, so what does anyone have to lose?

And while I haven't experienced any diminshed results since doing it, most are suggesting to 'update' it every 3-6 months or so. It only takes 30seconds or so, so not any real inconveinence. I'm hitting the sack tonight but will read up to see if I can find any reason as to WHY this actually works.

Good luck!

Thanks Blackout, glad to be of service. But while I would love to take full credit for it, credit should go to Diamondbird over at f150forum for coming up with this mod...The Diamondbird Mod!!

Thanks Blackout!

And I know I shouldn't let it get to me, lol, but it seems as though members in the other thread are not too thrilled/understanding about trying this mod...

Oh well I guess. Atleast WE know that this simple mod trick works like a charm!

Talking Success !

Just came back from the dealer. He installed latest upgrade then reprogrammed the tranny.
Immediate improvement !!! Gone is the dreaded 2 second lag ! Things seem to be smoother in general but I'm supposed to drive it for about two weeks so the computer gets used to my driving !! Then I'll get a better idea of the new set-up.

Sweet, did you just ask them to re-flash it, or tell them your throttle was lagging, or what? Just curious b/c I will probably be doing this soon.

What did you say to them to get this issue resolved?
