Air Filter - 2009 F150 4.6 3V
With 26K mileage i decided to change my air filter, so I bought a new air filter at the dealer. When installing it I noticed it was much thinner than the original, it seemed like half the thickness (filter element). I would think the thicker original filter has better qualities, simply because it is twice as big.
Does anyone know where I can get the thicker version of the 2009 motorcraft air filter? Or do I need to order the part number specifically? I listed both below.

The Motorcraft FA-1883 air filter ( thick ... and no longer available ) has been supplanted with FA-1903 ( thin ). *As per FoMoCo dealership parts counter and Motorcraft parts supplier.
If you want thick ... WIX 49883.
