Rain sensor on 2010 Platinum

I just had to have the windshield replaced on my 2010 Platinum and noticed yesterday during the rain that my rain sensor was no longer working. In addition, the intermittent feature only completes one pass. If I turn the **** on the stalk back and forth, it will complete another pass. I assume these two issues are related.

The slow and high speeds (manually) work properly.

I called the guy that did the replacement and he said that there is nothing in the windshield that would cause this and that the sensor is part of the rear view mirror wiring. I read that there is a Rain Sensor ring on the windshield. Can someone confirm this or point me to a photo?

The windshield that he installed looks exactly like the factory windshield, complete with the green sticker on the lower passenger side. Any ideas, or is a trip to the dealer in the cards? I find it hard to believe that it is just coincidence that this feature stopped working.

Thanks for any help.

On my 09 platinum i had to have the front windsheild replaced as well. Sensor is basicly junk when removed. i ordered another for 60.00 from dealer and installed myself. they wanted 70.00 to install . and connect 1 cable.

the adhesive is not flat . but is double sided spongy material. that sticks to glass.

i have the issue where now and then it wont slow down but thinks its raining way hard. when its not.

Thanks for the info. Isn't this item replaceable under warranty? If not, I think my insurance should pick up the tab since it happened during the windshield replacement.

I would think . or would like to hope glass replacement policys. Would include all labor and other installation supplies and equipment. Posssibly have them include that back in the cost. and you just install? if its expressly noted on install sheet. they might not cover it. after all. you pay in , they dont like paying out!!!
good luck.

I'm going to the dealer on Wednesday for an oil change. I'll have them take a look at it and then deal with the insurance company if I have to. I have full glass coverage. Thanks for the reply.
