6.2 or Eco Boost, Which one

They play a part but right now I have 23" wheels so I think I'm in the same boat now with the fx2 that I would be in with the 2011 Harley. I'm not sure I'm going to wait for forum help

The 2011 Harley would be rater lower than your truck because of the suspension, all of the extra weight of the doodads and options, more standard equipment and heavier 6.2.
Let's say the payload is around 1200 on the Harley 2wd.
Using the max towing example. Think you can tow 7500? Maybe. Maybe not. 7500 max tow rating x 15% = 1125 lb tongue weight. After your 1125 lb tongue weight would leave you with 75 lbs for people, cargo and other junk in the truck.
The only way to be sure it will work for you is to check the payload sticker of a 2011 Harley before buying and then do the calculation.

Most travel bumper pull trailers tow best with 10-15% tongue weight. People like to estimate with 15% because that is the most it should be. Actual tongue weight will vary be TT design and cargo loading/placement, but you will want to get into the 12-13% range if possible to control that well.

Maximum GCWR (as far as I know) for a 6.2L 3.73 Combo (Super Duty) is 19500 lb. So I would say the drivetrain will handle roughly a 14,000 lb trailer at least with that truck weight. The chassis on the other hand would be a death trap.
Its not really about horsepower despite the way light duty truck manufacturers rate trucks. I routinely take 80,000 lb up a 14% Grade with 470 bhp. The chassis and brakes are what matter. Chassis and Brakes are about what you tow. Horsepower is about how fast you tow it.
3500 lb Low Frontal Area (Bass Boat) - 3.7L 3.55/3.73 (Depending on Truck Model)
3500 lb High Frontal Area / 80 Sq Ft (Box Trailer) - 5.0L 3.55/3.73 (Depending on Truck Model)
That should give a pleasant experience.
You dont need a 6.2L.... But be honest its really about wanting it.... especially after hearing the Harley sounds like a NASCAR Stocker...

With fuel going up over 2 bucks a gallon this EB engine is going to make or break Ford trucks. It is a max tow rated engine and gets 20mpg plus hwy. I was at the dealership yesterday and he said truck and SUV sales are already slowing due to fuel prices. So the EB is going to sell a lot of trucks if fuel stays up.

Here's the way I see it.
If you want a Harley, get a Harley. It will tow what you have. It has tons of power, sounds great, and sucks gas like there's no tomorrow when towing. It's also a gas hog as a daily driver.
If you can do without a Harley, get either a 5.0 or EB. They will both tow what you have, they both have more power than your 5.4, and will get better gas mileage.

Ecoboost
I just pick up a new ecoboost and gave my 5.4 in for a trade...... hands down ecoboost is amazing! Tons of power!!! The 6.2 has all the power you could ever want but you'll also be spending more time filling it up then driving it. Do your research before you buy anything but deff look into the ecoboost and see what its all about and what it can do! only downfall to the ecoboost is no boost gauge built in yet.

6.2 or EB... EB
I have been driving my 2011 EB for a few days now. in a word... UNREAL.
The MPG is descent, certainly falls in line with every auto mfg claim for MPG, just throw it on the total bull **** pile.
With that said; this engine really performs. Huge torque and power band. The electronic steering is great since they have integrated speed adjusting turn response. It does not take away the road feel or change "driving" experience negatively at all.
The bottom line in my opinion is buy what you think you will be happy with and you will likely be very happy. Ford really hit it with the 2011 and if your a displacement junkie go with the 6.2. If your a tech guy get the EB. They really perform so similar that the debate is unfounded.
