After watching these videos it looks like people were severely overrating the power of the Dodge trucks. It's not that good. And the Chevy is not competitive at all.

Cool videos. Makes me want to trade my 5.4 in on an ecoboost. I do quite a bit of towing and the old 5.4 labors pretty similar to the 5.3 Chevy.

Yup 5.4 & 5.3 very close. 5.4L does it with tq and 5.3 does it with rpms.

I want to see the EB vs. the GM 6.2L. I understand the 5.3 is their volume engine etc, but beating a 5.3 in a towing demo is not a feather in your hat.

The 6.2L will perform very similarly to the dodge 5.7, similar power numbers and torque curve. the Flat curve of the Ecoboost is what gives it such an advantage in these tests.

With that said, nobody should pull a 6500 pounds trailer at 80mph, thats just stupid. A better test would have been pulling these trailers at the speed limit going up a grade.

Would it even be necessary to match up an EB and a GM 6.2? Haven't there been guys that have matched the EB to the Ford 6.2 with the EB still holding it's own?

Do you think? My God, I almost want to trade my Ford in after listening to that guy. Videos like this don't mean a lot to me. If the shoe was on the other foot and it was Chevy or Dodge or Toyota (wonder where their truck was?) doing a video like this, we would all wonder if each truck really had 6,500# in the trailer etc... I know the purpose of Ford's demonstration wasn't a "shoot out", but the video maker gets overly annoying trying to sell the Ford and make the other trucks look bad.....

That's because the other Trucks do look bad. I got to drive all 3 models, Ford, Dodge and Chevy and the Silverado might as well stayed at home. The Dodge is the closest competitor but still has a ways to go on the interior and the Hemi (although sounds good), couldn't keep up with the Ecoboost towing the same trailer.

All I can say is the interior room of the Chevy speaks for itself. WOW! How can that possibly be worse than the old Dodge Quad Cab??

The chevy rear seat leg room really is atrocious. My good friend has a 2007 silverado crew cab, and I swear my Supercab rear seat has about as much room as his Crewcab. My father's 2008 F150 crewcab is a night and day difference, and the 2009+ F150 have even more legroom.
