BakFlip F1... @#$@

I ordered a Bakflip F-1 two weeks ago. I had time this weekend to install the Bakflip F1 onto my 2010 F-150 SCREW. I started to unbox the rails and found the drain plug was broken completely off. I was very disappointed to see this.
So I called dealer (www.bakflipfactoryoutlet.com) I order it from and I have to send it back. I have to wait another two weeks to get another set of rails for my bakflip cover.

I notice on the rail box that it said the rails are for the Bakflip rails G2. Does Bak use the same rails for all their covers?

Same Here

I also found broken drain plugs on my rails when I unpacked my F1. I wasn't going to **** around sending the thing back just for that. I'm way too impatient for that! I screwed them into the rails as best I could (they were threaded) and then super glued them. They've been working fine.

Don't know about the rails. I guess they probably could use the same ones as the G2.

Bak has some pretty substandard quality control imo. I have one, its a great concept that just needs polished a bit.

Two of the three units they sent me (all leaked) had broken drain plugs. They asked me if I could do my best to screw it in place and then put super-glue on it, so that's what I did.

I am not a fan of the BAK product line. They have almost no customer service - if your next set comes in with a problem you will pay dearly for being a pain their side. You can watch as their attitude will totally sway from helpful to accusing you of being overly picky. Somehow, their product shortfall will become your fault.

Awesome innovation; Awful quality control / customer service. Best of luck to you.

Man sorry to hear about you guys problems. I've had no trouble with Bak's customer service. My support that holds the cover up against the can broke off and they sent new rails right away.

I ordered and installed the BAKflip G2. It is a a great concept but I agree that BAKflip has questionable quality control, customer service and they definitely have an issue with material choice on the G2. After just a few months the cover was filled with dents. Anything that touched the cover dented the soft aluminum they use. After repeated calls to BAKflip, they agreed to send me the F1 after I paid the $200 price difference. It took a month and additional calls for them to finally ship the F1...

Have to add my 2-bits to say I'm luvin my F1! Although, the adhesive holding the two rubber bumpers at the rear were already separating when I opened the box, compounded with the record heat we went through, the bumpers are only half secured while the other half shifts around when the last section is folded or hangs loose when closed.

So far that's my only quality complaint.

That the main reason I like to order direct from the manufacturer when possible. My F1 was flawless and has been a great addition on my ‘10 XLT Screw.

I ordered an F1 on July 31 through the Canadian supplier Cap-it. It came within 7 days. Three weeks later I noticed a seam between the back two panels broke off an inch. So I took pictures of it, sent it in and Bak sent me a new tonneau out no questions asked. I kept the old one, they sent me a new one, and I had to destroy the rest of the tonneau and take pictures. Great Customer Service for me with Bak...

Mind saying how much it cost you? I'm looking at ordering one in the near future
