So you mean if you paint the "clear edge" black.. from the back side , it will no longer look clear/white?! That sounds too easy!

You could also buy some VHT nightshades, its a paint used espeically to tint headlights and tails. All you would have to do is remove your tails and use some blue painters tape and mask off the area you want to paint. After that just spray away. Just take your time when taping it off.

I was thinking I'd have to do that. BUt I was dreading hte taping job. Getting the lines perfect!

One question: Would I have to sand that part first? (part to be painted)

400 grit?

I was thinking if I could paint the rear (and it actually worked!) that would be easier, simply mask off the entire front.

For guys that have done this: Can you make the regular tails look as good or better than the Harley tails? VHT nightshade is cheaper than the new tails!

so if you painted the back of the lights... did you sand at all first and how many coats did you put on... do you also put a clear coat on or is that night shade all you need
