If you're refering to the one under the rear bumper by the exhaust...its made by Amp Research...same compnay that makes the electronic side steps. They were running a promotion when i bought the electronic steps that they would give you the rear step free

Got one ... it's called the TrekStep from Bestop and costs about $100 less than the one from AMP. Installed it in about 15 minutes (need a deep 22mm socket) and it works well!

I can't wait to see those summer rims on there. I am seriously considering them for my truck. They are definitely unique on F150's I can't even find many pics on the web of them on our trucks!

Yeah, its going to be a few months till they make their way on! I dont mind rolling with the winter setup though. General Grabber AT/2's with moto metals arent too bad for a winter set up, just waiting for some snow to see how they really perform!

Yeah, I noticed that also, that there arent many pics even online with those rims. they are definetely a step above the more comon wheels. Made right here in the USA

How many inches did you lift your truck. What kit did you use?

I see you got the general grabber AT/2's. What size?

I live in Minot, ND and went with the dedicated snow/ice tire for the next few months. My FX4 came with the pirelli scorpion atr 20' (275/55R20) and they handle like crap in the snow. Felt like the truck was on skates! Ended up getting the blizzak dm-v1 snow tires in the same size (275/55R20). They are AWESOME in the ice and even better in the snow. Between the snow tires, 4x4 and some weight in the bed, I'm money on the roads.

There was one thing I didn't like about the tires though. Even though they are the same size, the scorpions are 32" tall and the blizzaks are 31.9" tall. Didn't really seem like a big deal to me when I saw it on paper. I mean what's a tenth of an inch? But it really did make a huge difference when they were on the truck and I got in for the first time. It seems like my truck is 1.5-2" lower!! I don't know if it's because of the soft rubber of the tire or the thickness of the tread or what. So if anyone out there is thinking of getting these snow tires I would suggest the 275/60R20 so you don't loose any height.

Anyway, I'm keeping them on there for this winter since they do really well in the snow, but this summer I was thinking of raising the truck about 4" or so and getting some really good A/T tires. Thinking of the General Grabber, or Goodyear Wrangler. Anyway, thought your truck looked good and wanted to know what kind of lift you did. Thanks.

PS. Just waiting on the Amps to come in then the stereo mod starts!!!

I ended up going with a BDS 6 inch lift. It came with the shocks and everything. the only additional thinkg i added where black rubber shock boots for a few bucks. So far I love the lift! No complaints at all! I was looking at a 4 inch Rancho at first too, but figured...if im lifting...might as well LIFT it and go with the 6 inch

Yeah, i'm using the General Grabber AT/2s as a dedicated winter tire only. They are 35X12.5X18. I would have went with a Blizzak or something like that if they made something close to a 35 inch tire. I was also looking at the Firestone Destination ATs...they got great scores in Consumer Report as well as Tire rack, but it will probably be a while before i need new ones.

What amps are you going with? I'm so procrastinating with my system. Its like 1/2 way there. All the wires are ran...the amp rack is 80% done. Then just have to fiberglass the speakers in

http://bds-suspension.com/product?ma...1&yr=2009-2010 Is this the lift you got. That isn't cheap $2k Did you also have to use a leveling kit? What are you using for summer tires?

So for my amps I am going with the Alpine PDX-F4 (100w x 4) and the PDX-M6 (600w x 1) Got two 10" kicker CompVT there rated at 400w RMS 800w max. So from what I'm reading on line I should be able to bridge that amp to get 600w to both speakers. The door speakers are 6.5 alpine type R components for the front that can handle 110w RMS and the rears are 5x7 coax alpine type R's. I'm really excited about the install. I hope I get these amps in soon. It's the onlyl piece I'm missing. What do you think about these amps?

Yeap, thats the 6 inch lift i got, and yeah...thats the price for it too $2k not including install but it was wlel worth it. By going with a full lift kit i kept all the factory angles/geometry (technically less wear and tear on the parts) Also I didnt need a leving kit, the $2k gets you all you need.

Summer wheels and tires are RBP 94R black with chrome inserts(Rolling Big Power wheels 20x9 -12 offset) and the tires are Toyo MT 35x12.5.20

Those Alpines look good. i dontt have a lot of experience with those models, but the specs look good. who told you that you will get 600watts into each sub? Unfortunately they were incorrect. From the specs i read, that amp puts out 600watts into either 4 or 2 ohm. so 600 watts will be the total watts you will have. What are the ohm on your subs? are the subs dual voice coils? it looks like you are only going to have 300watts going to each sub no matter how you configure it. Even my JL1000.1 wouldnt even do 600 per sub...only 500 per sub. They do look nice though....good cross over section, and i like the fact the sub amp is a D-Class!

The subs are 2 ohms and I think it's a single voice coil because kicker calls it a "special 4 layer" voice coil. okay...so I'll get 300w per sub. there rated at 400w RMS. Think this will be enough? Yes. It's a class D.

What if I did a series wiring like this.

(not sure if the image will come out)

Since these subs are 2ohms then wiring them like this will = 4ohms. So will I get 600w a each? You have to forgive me, I really don't know much about this stuff. And sites like this really help me out.

Yep...you have the connections correct for a single voice coil series configuration. since your amp max RMS output is 600 watts, what it will do is put out the 600 watts to the "combined configuration" since you have 2 subs in this configuration, each sub will get 300watts. See, the amp really doesnt know how many subs yuo have connected...it just knows that it "see's" a 4ohm load, and it is designed to put 600 watts out into a 4 ohm load. If you had 4 subs hooked up, and the four subs equalled a 4 ohm load, your amp would still put out 600watts, but each sub would be getting 150watts.

Just a side note also.... when you hook up two voice coils in a series configuration you are doubling the ohms...in your case two 2ohm voice coils in series you get 4 ohm. If you hooked your two 2 ohm voice coils in parallel configuration you have to "half" the ohms. So youd get one 1ohm load, and your particular amp cant do a 1ohm mono load.

Awesome. Thanks for the explaniation. I think 300w each will do me just fine.
