I know you've got a lot going on, but if you're not already aware, you can upgrade your head unit to the new z120bt software by following the instructions on avic411.com (Pioneer Avic forum).

Your truck is looking great - I look forward to seeing what you do with your system as I have plans for a system of my own once I buy my 2011 F150 (I already have the z110bt sitting in my closet, LOL). I would love to fit the sub(s) behind the rear seat, but it doesn't seem feasible from what I've seen on here. I just hate to give up such a significant amount of floor space to two speakers.

It was actually pretty easy! I just removed the pocket (since i didnt have the tow package) and sanded down the front of the pocket by about 3/16, and then cut the back section of the pocket off. I then cut some ABS plastic to mount to the front of the pocket. Glued it with epoxy, and cut the switch holes out. then reinstalled...

Just curious what grille you went with? I love how that sort of grille (as well as desert dawg's) gives the front of the truck such a clean/square look.

Looking forward to seeing pics with the new shoes on
My reciept says its designed by T-Rex, but i believe its a Precision billet grille in black

Hey chris! Yeah i saw your other post about upgrading to the 120, and I'm actually a memmber over there too. It does look a little complicated to do the conversion process, and the only thing i saw that would be cool to have is the new scrolling features of the 120, i dont really use Pandora, so that wouldnt be worth it to me! I've had kenwood nav's, eclipse, and the Pioneer is one of the best i've used! It has an amazing UI system.

I know what you mean about giving up the floor space. I'm not too thrilled about that either. I'm still waiting for my Stereo Integrity MKIII's to be shipped...hopefully this week.

Timelessr1 - the truck looks great. I'm thinking about doing an audio/nav update myself. I have a couple of questions.

1. Were you able to keep our sync or steering wheel controls? If you did, did you use this. http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=26

2. I see the console is now a flat black. What kit did you use? Could you have used the factory carbon fiber looking console that had the nav option, or would it still not fit?

Thanks.

Thanks!!

I decided not to keep my sync function. Since i decided to go with the Pioneer z110, this unit has everything built into. Als ofor the price of that kit you had listed, i could have purchased a new ipod and used it soley as my "jukebox" in the truck. Since i already owned an ipod, it ended up being cheaper to not use Sync. As for steering wheel controls, i went with a Metra kit

http://www.amazon.com/Metra-ASWC-Uni.../dp/B0039H2W66

Yes i ended up choosing a Scoshe kit. IMO this kit was much cleaner looking then the Metra install kit. I found it also cheaper to paint the flat black kit with Gloss Black fusion paint, and clear coat. I'm not sure 100% if you can get the OEM FX4 kit which is used with the stock Nav unit. It might be possible...might have to do some measure ments on a stock Nav unit to see if its possible

Thanks for the quick response. That Metra kit for the steering wheel controls, do all the buttons work. For example if you hit the media button, does it interface with the radio and change media (nav/sat/fm...etc)? Or is it basically the skip and volume buttons that work? Do you still have bluetooth phone capabilities? If so did you use your existing mic or did you have to use the new one that came with the head unit? Thanks.

Yeah the media button can change the pioneer radio from like ipod to fm to am, etc. The only button that really doesnt work, which i wish it did was the voice botton on the sterring wheel.

I used the pioneer supplied mic, and installed it right in the middle by my sun roof button.

i also did get my wheels and tires on aling with the fender flares but ran into a bad balancing issue with the General Grabber AT/2 on 18 inch moto metals! I'm going back to the shop tomorrow morning to get them looked at, and rebalance. They are fine up until like 50 mph, then and thing over they start shaking...and get worse the faster i go! Its always something!!!! But i'll be getting some new pics up soon of them!!

These are my winter wheels and tires with Bushwacker extend-a-flares PTM truck color

These are the Hella Black Magics

I ended up buying a Banks Monster Duals. I didnt really care for the fact that they went straight out the back, so i went to a speed shop and had them customized so they are 45dg out each side

Timelessr1 -- I just ordered the avic-z120bt today. I had a couple of questions for you since you've already installed this unit.

1. Since the factory radio is integrated into everything (climate control, sync..etc.) Did you have to get any other special harnesses?

2. If I only lose my sync I'm fine with that since the new radio does everything anyway. But I'm afraid of losing anyother functions. Did you have any issues?

3. I'd like to get a wiring harness so I in case I have to do any splicing it won't be with the factory harness. Do you have any sugesstions on a wiring harness? I've been looking around but just getting confused.

4. Did you need any type of adapter for the sirius radio to work?

I went with the following.

Alpine Type R SPR 17S 6.5 components for the front
Alpine Type R SPR 57C 5x7 coax for the rear
2 kicker compVT 10" sallow subs with a Fox Box enclosure
Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT
Scosche double din dash
Pioneer ipod interface cable
Metra Axxess ASWC steering wheel interface (the one you suggested)

I'm still unsure about the amp. What do you suggest? What will I need to make my install easier? Thanks for the help. I don't have much experience installing car audio systems, especially on a truck this new.
