Had lots of cars and trucks

Not a whiner.

Just looking for an answer or a solution to a problem I personally would like to resolve.
I have a Lincoln by the way. A 2004 LS sport, triple black, 3.9 liter V-8. The best car ever made in my book! Yes, it does have a CAF
AND, I meant to say an MLS not the MKZ. I am not impressed with the cut corners version.

My 2006 Lariat did not have a CAF either, however I did retrofit it with a CAF from an Expedition.
That at least was an option.

Some of these comments. Are yall serious?

Pretty much:

An FX4 is for serious off roading....because of those super off roading shocks and hardcore skid plate?

Bells and whistles shouldn't be offered on a truck because honestly, why make things nicer? I mean, the government made me hook up a DTV box to my black and white tv just so I can watch the news.

If you want a nice vehicle to drive, it shouldn't be a truck. If you need a truck, get it without nice features. Then buy another vehicle that isn't a truck, and spend money on nice features. Do not combine the two. That would be silly.

I would like a CAF on my truck, which I use as a daily driver.
I have a black interior which gets really dusty. However, the main reason I would like one is because I have really bad allergies. And since a CAF is designed to help filter out allergens, I think it would be a nice option.

But I like to be comfortable when driving to the swap meet! Ya never know when you may come across that really large lawn decoration that the wife just has to have.

gm's had them for 10 yrs, what is ford waiting for?

trucks are so competitive now and the difference separating them is so close, so anything to have and extra edge over the competition can make the difference. it's like when ford put plastic bedside/tailgate protectors and locking tailgates in 97, everyone had to copy to keep up. then tailgate assist, etc...

i think more than 15% would want one in their trucks when asked. and for the ones that don't, then just take them out and leave them out.

as far as adding to the cost of a new vehicle, a 20$ filter is nothing compared to a couple airbags and abs.

GM might have a cabin filter, but the rest of the truck is a disaster. I drove one at the DFW F-150 test drive event and it was bar far the worst full size truck I've ever driven. And, I'm not slamming Chevy, I bought a Chevy car this weekend. But the trucks just suck, pure and simple.

My friends 2010 chevy surburban just had to have a new engine after just 6 months. It's already on it's 2nd trans also. Our chevy is on it's 3rd trans and is about ready 4 it's 4th but they won't warranty it anymore. It's funny that some people are worried about a stupid air filter and compare the other brands that have them. Perhaps the other brands have such bad work trucks because of adding things like this. They have a budget 2 stick to for the vehicle production. That $200 part can be better spent else ware like a better frame, better interior, better suspension etc etc. Also do you walk about with a mask on when you leave the truck because if you don't then what's the point in a cabin air filter. I can tell you now that I don't wear a mask when I'm on construction sites so the cabin air filter would be pointless. I have never seen anyone wear a mask just walking about on site.

Why is that so funny? UPS drivers make $80K delivering packages. It's a no skill job other than keeping a decent driving record.

I seem to recall when houses were $150K and townhouses were half that. Now? Townhouses built over 25 years are selling in my neighborhood for $400K.

The price of everything goes up, and options go with it.

I would have bought an XLT to replace my wrecked 2003 XLT, but the 2010 XLT seats looked and felt like something out of a '75 Datsun B210=JUNK.

Yea, I spent more on my truck than I had set out to do, but I am happy with it. Who wants to drive a stripped 2WD standard cab w/ a V6 and vinyl seats?
