Bilsteins on - Alignmet question

I installed the 5100 series all the way around on my 2010 Lariat. I had both shops and ford tell me the alignment was not needed as there was no way to mess with the alignment on these shocks.

Curious if anyone has had to get it realigned or had any alignment issues after install?

I would think that at the very least you would need the toe setting verified and steering wheel centered.

I also had the Ford dealer tell me I didn't need an alignment. I've driven serveral hundred miles with no bad tire wear and the truck steers and tracks as it did before the install.

I told the service guy I was coming after him if my tires start wearing badly.

If you leveled the front with the struts, it needs aligment.

If all you did was a shock change, then there is no reason to believe that you would need an alignment. Shocks don't change any angles or ride height, unless maybe they are coil overs, and even then I am not sure it would. If you put a leveling kit in there, then, yea, you would need to get it realigned.
If you used the stock springs in front, then you should be fine.

The 5100's are the leveling shocks.

Straight from Bilstein: "Check and adjust vehicle front-end alignment after installation."

Here's the latest from Bilstein..."Check wheel alignment. If necessary, adjust to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications."
