Hey Sal FX4, Thankyou for the #'s and the heads up about the system not being compatible with other systems remotes.

Steve,

Thanks a lot for your advise and help!! As you had suggested, my dealer had no idea how to prevent the truck from stopping when the door was opened. My 2005 had no issues, I couldnt believe that my new 2010 would. Thankfully I found your thread!

Still not sure what buttons '1' and '2' are used for?? But the 'chirp codes' (horn honks) work just as described in the manual. The hardest part was to find the button and LED, thankfully they hadnt wrapped them in tape as you had hinted towards. But everything worked perfectly, the truck continues to run when the door is opened and I also took advantage to set/adjust a few of the other options.

Brilliant! Thanks a lot!!

Now, if we can only figure out how to get the inseat aircon to work on the remote start I'll be laughing!

Maybe I got a bit ahead of myself.

Although I was able to deactivate the safety feature so the truck remains running when a door is opened, the other options I 'adjusted' dont seem to be taking. Like the 2 push for start vs. push and hold for start. Also the 2 push to unlock all doors vs. the push and hold.

Any ideas?

Oh, one other thing I'd love to set is the auto entry. Itd be great that the seat remains in a rearward position until the real key is actually in the ignition at that point the seat would slide forward into my pre-set position. At the moment i have to either move the seat back and then once seated hit the seat memory button to slide the seat forward into my preferred driving position or slide into the seat under the steering wheel. If this possible to set?

I've purchased the parts to have the Ford Gold system installed on my '10 Screw - Does anyone know how many hours Ford calls out for the install time of this system?
I am trying to get an idea on how much this will cost .... TIA

I am also looking at the gold system. What are the alarm details? Any proximity or rock sensors or just if the door opens when it is locked the panic alarm goes off?
Thanks.

the alarm has a shock sensor that is built into the brain unit and you can adjust the sensitivity of it. Gives warning chirps or goes off entirely, it's tied into the horn, there is no siren. Like if you start knocking on the door window, it will give a warning horn chirp or two.

It's just a basic system without that many options. There's certainly better aftermarket systems out there with more features, better range, and 2-way remotes. But I still like the Ford systems because they are easy to install and easy to program.

Just trying to understand if I have the right part numbers.......

I have a 2010 explorer sport track.....its already got the basic remote start extra fob....

I want it all to be in one key fob....

I found this to be the correct corresponding fob remote start kit part# 7L3Z-19G364-AA

Now the second question is do I have to order the pats kit also or can I keep the one already installed with the basic remote start?

If I do have to change it I found the part number to be....8L3Z-19G365-BA

How do I disable the safety feature s the truck will remain running when the door is opened??? Thanks

if you have the factory 1-button system, this is the programming file: http://documents.codesystems.com/710620.pdf

you have enter the programming mode using the black program button and then change Option Bank 2, Option 7.
