This thread's taken a on a life of its own that I never expected.

If you want to see this effect in action, you need two pairs of polarized glasses. Stack them one on top of the other and look through them at a light source. While looking, rotate one lens against the other. If you have two good polarizers, at one orientation, you will see 100% (or very nearly) blockage of light.

It's this orientation manufacturers should try to avoid.

 

No issues here, sometimes its difficult to see my touch screen phone in certain scenarios but the display is perfectly fine with my polarized shades

 

What is everyones preference on polarized sunglasses? I have 4 pairs of Oakley polarized, but have recently been thinking of trying a pair of ray bans.

 

I just got my first "real" pair of sunglasses...a pair of Oakley polarized and I love them! Of course, I should when compared to my $15 el-cheapos!
