License Plate Bracket

Question: (Maybe a dumb question)

Shouldn't my new 2010 F-150 have came with a License Plate bracket ? I ask because there is this giant hole where one would be placed. Not sure if this was standard or not.

Any advise would be great.

Only if you wanted to advertise for the dealer for free.

My advise is to leave it be, or pick on up that you like. Here's mine:

This a just a guess. My window sticker lists "License Plate bracket NC", no charge, but I live in a state requiring a front license plate, Texas.

The guess is that if your state does not require a front plate, you get no bracket. If your window sticker lists one, you should have it, also.

I take it Indiana doesn't require a front plate? (NC does not, VA does) I would imagine you'd get one only if your state required one.

NCSU.

Thanks. I looked at my window sticker and it didn't say anything about a NC license bracket. I appreciate your quick response.

I got one in the front, as a free option, and I live in NC. First thing I did was remove the dealer's advertising plate that he put there and replace it with one of my own.

But when I ordered the truck, the ordering person asked if I wanted the front license plate bracket for free, so I said sure, I can always take it off later myself.

I have a black plastic license plate mount on the front of the truck I picked up this past weekend.

But, what are the large black plastic covers on either side of license plate? What optional parts will fit there?

I'm pretty sure that those pieces on either side of the license plate bracket (or the gaping hole...whichever you have) are there just for style and what not. I'm not aware of any factory option that replaces those pieces.

EDIT: I really want to see what a winch looks like stuck in between there!

My XLT came with a front license plate bracket and no dealer advertising. No front plate required where I'm from.
