Retro-fit.

I've got a set of 6000K bi-xenon H13s for sale if you're interested.

I've used DDM for years, and haven't had any issue with them. I would only recommend their Slim ballast(not the raptor kit) because they come with a lifetime warranty, so if anything goes wrong, they will replace it.

If you google DDM HIDs, you will find that they are used fairly widely.

Now, if you want the cream of the crop, you need to look at McCulloch, and if you want even better than that, Phillips. The McCulloch kits run around $300-350, and the Phillips are typically $600+.

Custom Retro-fit HIDs are the way to go. Stay away from the conversion kits in the stock headlight housing.

I was under the impression that the 09-10 models, can not have their headlights opened up via baking, etc? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a set of the DDM 55w 6000k in my headlights. I have ZERO issues with them. If you aim them properly, other drivers won't have an issue with you either. The biggest part of the problem comes from people not aiming the headlights down towards the ground a bit.

I know about the focal point and the cutoff plates in actual projectors....etc. Yes, they make a difference, but I still would say HID in a halogen housing is fine, as long as they are aimed down.

I would like to know this. I currently have Bi-Xenon 6000k bulbs in my headlights, as well as low-beam 6000k bulbs in my fogs.

I would like to know if the heads and fogs can be opened up to do a retrofit.

If thats the case, I can do the conversions for both headlights and fogs for $365 ($220 headlights, $165 fogs) and then sell my current bulbs.

I've ran a couple sets from Retro-solutions.com and they have always been top notch. They also offer lifetime warranties on the ballasts and the bulbs if you order the digital kit which is nice. There is no issue running the HID's in the headlamp that have the bulb cover. Plus they run at a lower tempature.

Aiming them down won't really solve the problem, it will just reduce the visible road you have and cut down on headlight performance. The problem lies with glare, random specs of light scattered everywhere by the improper housing. A halogen bulb is a straight line while the HID bulb is a large Arc shape, makign it impossible to properly capture the focal point of the stock housing. Even when your headlights are aimed straight down, glare is going everywhere (even straight up in some bad cases). This glare issue becomes worse with rain because it reflects off every drop of water on someones windshield, its extremely blinding to oncoming traffic.

Check out HIDplanet.com and do some reading.

I would really like to go ahead and put the FX-R projectors in my headlights with my HID's. A couple questions:

Is it actually possible to take apart the headlights on a 2009 F-150 and do this? I've heard mixed answers.
What would be required to make this work? Removing the reflective portion inside the stock headlight? Cutting the headlight to fit the projector? I would just like an idea before I get wrapped up in this.

Also, do you think there is enough room to use the mini projectors in the fog lights?
