John, I wish the dealers from the Chicagoland area would come up with deals like that. All I can say is wow.

That's one heck of a deal!! The best you can do around here is $6-7k off the sticker.

I would be interested in seeing the rebates/discounts you got. Because the invoice price for that truck would be about $43,800 and the standard discounts of $3500, would bring it down to $40,300. What were the other $5,200 in discounts/rebates?? I know my figures are estimates but they should be close.

I was looking at a similar truck that had a MSRP of $47,885. Even with X-plan pin/invoice pricing, it would put the price at $40,002.

How did you get the other $5,200?

Kevin

The total price before discounts was 47960 less 1k for Lariat premium package. So the 'total msrp' at bottom of sticker was 46960. If I remember correctly, they deducted all rebates/discounts from the dealer invoice of 41,767 apprx.
I got the standard discounts including the 1k with ford financing that we plan to re-finance within the month or so. Plus I found two more to use. I made this deal on behalf of my son who is graduating from college so we got an additional 500 off for student discount. I had already been quoted a very good price from dealer then I found another ford discount called 'customer loyalty' that is another 1000 plus value for trade-in. We had an old VW that I used as a beater car so we decided to trade it in. So all of these discounts brought final selling price down to 35167 plus ttl.

A good starting point right now is use KBB to get invoice, ford's website for current incentives, and then take am additional 500.00 off. They will cut into holdback since they want to move them and who knows what manufacturer rebate to dealers offers there are right now to move the 4.6 and 5.4 out.

John, Im soo jealous of you. I cant see to deal with any of these dealers up in Chicago, and its not worth it for me to have to drive 1200 miles to get a darn deal. I really wish the dealers in Chicagoland would wake the F up and start making deals.

Golfer, look around for dealers owned by Group1 which is a national company that owns dealerships all over the country. You might be able to get a better deal with them.

May be would flying to Austin to pick up a truck if you are saving a few grand and if they have the model you are interested in. When I was shopping I found other deals in the 37 to 38K price range for same package.

If a dealer up there has the truck you want you should just walk in and give them a check for the amount you want to pay and see what they say. If they refuse, then just keep shopping.
