As far as getting a good price when ordering a truck go to a few dealers with a print out of what you want and ask for their best price and tell them you are shopping around. You can go to the dealer you want to buy it from last and ask them to beat the other prices. It’s hard to get a good price when you order a truck if you only go to one dealer.

However I am guessing this all goes out the window with x plan, as far as I know no dealer will negotiate x plan.

Power Kid and Dunesgirl--The discussion we were having was not what Ford would do. It was what the dealerships would do. For that discussion it is almost irrelevant what Ford decides to price the options at. If the demand is great enough to create a severe shortage of particular vehicles or options, then dealerships will try to increase the price above MSRP. Don't get hung up on numbers I put out there they were made up to provide an example, which is why I didn't provide a solid one number.

OK, If Ford thought the Stealership could charge @ $4K+ for a EB for any reason, for any length of time I think the 4.4L baby diesel would be on the market.

You can order with X-Plan, but it is at the dealer's discretion. Some dealers will only sell cars on the lot for X-plan, while others will let you order at the X-plan price. If you plan to order AND use X-Plan, I would say that you are going to be at a severe disadvantage when it comes to trying to negotiate an even lower price than the X-Plan price.

That's just it the higher prices won't be for any length of time. A couple months at best. It is far easier for Ford to price the truck at a point where they think it would sell at a decent rate nationwide and if the price is too high they offer incentives and discounts later. You see dealerships jacking up the price of a vehicle just about anytime a new model comes out that has a lot of hype and excitement surrounding it. I don't think this truck has that level of excitement, but I could be wrong. Outside of these forums and a few car guys, there is little talk of the new engines.

Does anyone know what the "future availability" of the EcoBoost is? Has anyone heard a release date?

Does anyone know how soon we can place orders?

Thanks,
Not for a few months at least. EcoBoost will be late availability.
