4.56

I was wondering if a Ford Dealership will install gears for you. i wanna eventually do some 4.56's but wanna keep my warranty. I know it would be pricey for them to do it but it would be worth it. Does anyone know if they will do it for you..
Thanks

Have you called a dealer and asked them?

just because someone other than a Ford dealer works on your truck doesn't mean the warranty is void (unless I'm horribly mistaken). You just need documentation from a certified mechanic of what work was done, etc.

Well that may be good news. I thought any mechanical work done would void your warranty especially a gear swap..

Don't just take my word on it, do some research, but from my past experience, it seems like professional shops do not void warranties.

Nothing can void a warranty unless it's directly proven that whatever modifications were made directly caused a failure.

In this instance, swapping gears (whether a dealer does it or not) will not void your warranty unless they themselves cause a failure. Also, if the aftermarket gears themselves go out, Ford's obviously not going to cover them as part of the warranty.

Running aftermarket parts can cause havic with some dealerships and warranty coverage. There is something called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that is supposed to protect you against dealerships denying coverage just because you are running aftermarket parts.

Do a little reading and you'll see that on paper the act sounds really good. But in reality, the dealerships know you're not likely to have the money or the stomach to drag them into a legal battle over warranty coverage.

Look closely at what FPP offers, some of their performance parts will not effect warranty coverage. Especially if installed by the dealership.
