Steering Wheel

Anybody have the top layer of their steering wheel "delaminate"? It seems as if I have about 200,000 miles on my sterring wheel where my hand grips the wheel by the way the outer layer is peeling off. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem?

No problems here... What do you do for a living? Willing to bet you come into contact with some sort of chemicals, causing the wheel to "peel".

Sozzy, thanks for providing us our freedom, my hat's off to you and the rest of the troops. I have a 2009 Lariat Scab, and I am employed as a Rapid Oxidation Supression Specialist (fancy name for a firefighter)

This happened to my 2000 after about 120,000 miles. I put a leather skin on it and that contained it. I put one on my 2010 first thing.

This is the brand I used. http://www.wheelskins.com/eurotone_w....php?manu=Ford

I think he was saying his steering wheel LOOKS like he's driven 200k miles with his hand in the same position. I had to read it twice, too!

Yep, 50,000 km's and in the last week it has grown into a thumb sized piece of missing material that gets bigger every time i touch it.

Having exhausted all avenues of finding a steering wheel cover to fit, I started looking at these myself. What is the difficulty level of installing these as I thought I read that you basically sew them on?
