Question Buckets of water on the passenger side.

Hey everyone. Brand new to the forum and was hoping someone could help me. I have a 2009 XL regular cab truck. Ii have only had it a few days when last night after the first rain we have had in weeks I got into the truck and noticed some water on the passenger side floor. It wasnt much and I thought perhaps somethin got spilled. This morning I get back into the truck and there is LOTS of water on that side. I brushed out all I could and starting driving. I could hear water sloshing somewhere on the passenger side and the first time I hit the breaks it all came rushing forward and filled back up that side.

Any ideas? I love the truck, but I have never seen anything like this.

Thanks in advance.

Was your window down? ok ok, sorry couldnt help it..

I doubt it is the third brake light leaking that bad and thats the only leak I know of being a common problem on these trucks. Start at the top and work your way down until you find something wet.

water on passenger floor. i would take a hose with water and see you if could determine where it coming from as also stated in another post was the pax window up tight . i would think most likely cause would be the windshield or weather stripping around door good luck keep us all posted.

Sounds like a lot of water for it to be the gps or brake light. Perhaps take it to a pressure washer and sit in it while friend blast the truck. Does it have sun roof?

Thanks, as soon as the sun comes back out I will try a pressure washer on it. To be honest the rain was real bad last night, we havent had a storm like that in a while. I did check the windows (And no sunroof)

Heard it might be the break light, or the sat ant. I will check both those over. Thanks again.

This happened to my 1996 suburban when it was new. The dealer had to adjust the front door and it looked terrible since they made it much closer to the body so as to tighten the rubber seals. I got rid of the truck since it was a POS.
SO my advice is the dealer needs to fix this problem if its under warrenty. If they cannot fix it to your satisfaction, get the lemon laws working.
Good Luck

i had this happen, it was my 3rd brake light. It was a ton of water, i didnt believe that was the problem but it was. I guess it holds in the head liner.

I had a puddle on the floor board on my 04 f150. Took it to the dealer and finally found out I had some sort of firewall problem and my ac wasn't dripping out of the truck. Instead it was staying in the truck.

Still raining here, stil a bit of water. I felt the back window looking for some leak, but it was dry, in fact everywhere I ran my hand it was dry. But damn, with that amount of water it has to be pouring in from somewhere. Maybe it is the 3rd breaklight and running down not across the window but down the right side unto the floor. About to break out the silicon gun myself once things dry up here. (My local dealerships are stinky... putting it nice)
