Warranty Question

So this morning when i was parking at work I noticed that when i try to push the driver side mirror in it wouldn't close all the way. I started inspecting it to see if there was anything broken and i can see a piece inside, where it pivots. Has anyone else had this problem? Also do any of yall think this would be covered by warranty, since I've got the bumper to bumper, and only 16k on the odometer?

Should be covered. Even if it isn't for some reason, being pleasant when you're talking to the service dept should get them to bend on this one. They like to keep the nice people who are going to bring their trucks back for service, not the jerks.

When delivering trucks via car haulers, the drivers collapse the mirrors so they don't hit the trailer struts. Wonder if they broke it then and you just never noticed? Sometimes at truck washes the attendants get a little rough with them, too.

So the dealership was no help... there was a half inch mark on the mirror... probably a rock or something hit it(off road tires), but they told me that it wasnt covered because of this... i didnt know a mark on the outside affected the mechanics of the mirror on the inside... idiots

Ask them to prove it. Then you can say O thats right, you can't because a mark on the outside of the mirror has NO effect on the inside. Sounds like a manufacturers defect to me. Maybe try another stealership?

did you take it back to the dealer you bought the truck from. i have the towing mirrors and hit a bird it popped the mirror right out of the frame and they replaced the whole assembly under warranty you might take it to another dealership and its always good to get in tight with a service rep and another thing always try to be nice it helps sometimes.

No i didnt take it back to the dealership i bought it from, its to far away, but i was really friendly with them, and i thought they were gonna fix it, but then the a** hole manager came out and said no. Ill probably try another dealership..... I wish i knew someone who worked there, that would have helped....

That can be a problem when you travel to a distant dealer to buy a vehicle to save a few bucks - whether it's right or not, dealers give much higher priority to their own customers for warranty work. Take it back to the dealer where you bought it.
