F150 sale, possible to get below invoice before rebates? Need help on price.

I really want to pull the trigger on a new Super Crew 4x4 F150 XLT. Would be my first pickup!

However i feel like the dealer is not being very honest.

Anyone bought recently? Were you able to get below invoice before the $4500 in factory rebates? If so how much below?

I'm Being told that they are not passing on the shipping charge for transporting the vehicle from another dealership(250) and they are willing to throw in a Line-X for free(they say 459 value) and that this is a great deal.

MSRP is 39,900k on the truck I am looking at. They say invoice is 36,300 and that is what they want me to pay(before 4500 in rebates)+ they are throwing in Line-X for free and of course not charging me for transporting the truck from a different dealership(which I think is stupid).

I hate this part

Edmunds says invoice on a $39900 F-150 is $35949 - but I had to play around with it to configure a truck at exactly $39900. They may or may not be truthful about the invoice, but it's a decent deal - the Line-X is worth it.

Make sure they don't hit you with a big doc fee. I'd shoot for them throwing that in.

I just bought mine 3 weeks ago here in Texas. FX2 Screw that stickered at ~37000

-1000 off for FX2 SYNC and TOW (this was on the sticker)
-4500 rebates
-1000 for financing with Ford (moved later to the credit union for a MUCH lower rate)
-3500 off from Bankston Ford

so that left me at 27K and change...

Everything was on the up and up but the dealer did tell me that i had to keep my loan at Ford for 90 days. I called Ford Motor Credit and they said I could pay it off at any time.

You just helped me a TON! I can get that extra 1k off if I finance with Ford and then refinance with my credit union. Sounds like the dealship just wants you to stick it out for 90 days but Ford Credit is ok if you just pay it off!

Otherwise I am getting pretty much the same offer. 39,900 sticker down to 36300.

There are a couple of items that sites like Edmunds and KBB do not include in their dealer pricing: FDAF (local advertising fees...vary from area to area) and the cost of the fuel put in at the factory. FDAF and fuel costs will appear on an invoice, but not on the sticker. As far as financing with Ford and switching to a credit union goes; the reason the dealer will say ninety days before a refinance is because they do not get their "commission" unless a buyer makes the first three monthly payments.

You should definitely be able to work with them below invoice. I just picked up my FX4 three weeks ago. Sticker at roughly $47k, the rebates and Vincent Coupon were deducted from $39,375. I didn't do Ford Financing, with a 782 credit score they still quoted 8.2%. So the Factory Rebates plus my Vincent coupon were $4,250; leaving me with a price of $35,125 before down payment. Find the truck you want at more than one local dealer and then play them against each other!

The thrown in Line=X is a great deal. The best quote that I have gotten for my 5.5' bed from an actual Line-X dealer in the upper NY area is $599+ tax.

These things are getting down right cheap now. The dealer I work with is offering $13K total off of XLT Screws. That deal is hard to beat.

Just Picked up my FX4 on Monday. (1st post)
Ohio Dealer was running a 25% off MSRP deal before any discounts.
Sticker $46,290
- 25%
Final $34,717. +Tax & Tags

If it helps my build sheet had Dealer INV listed at 42007.60?

Same thing, had to finance thru Ford at 8.9% for 90days then I will be able to go thru my Credit union.

I didn't have to wait the 90 days when I bought mine in '08, but maybe they've changed rules? I did the financing through ford for the xtra 1k, went straight to my credit union and refinanced.
However, 3 months is really nothing on paper anyway.
Congrat's on the new truck.

DO NOT WAIT 90 DAYS...this is a dealer rip-off. Not Ford Motor Credit. I called them directly and they said there is no such policy for waiting 90 days...MOVE THAT LOAN.

They can't penalize you for paying off the loan early unless it is written in the loan agreement for early payoff penalty....I doubt that it is.

I would refinance the day after I walked out of the dealership....what are they going to do, put a lien on the truck they don't have any ownership to now that its paid for?

I would have them show you their invoice...if they are not willing to then just find a dealership who will. I went thru several before I bought my mustang....eventually one called and said they would do it for my price. Dealerships get incentives for how many vehicles they can move...sometimes its not always about how much profit they are going to make but the extra unit moved for that month.

I would set your price....be reasonable, wait for them to meet your price range....eventually they will meet your demands if they are reasonable ones.
