My salesman told me that I could refi immediately even though I took advantage of the same deal. I did and nobody ever said a word about it.

Invoice on that is going to be about $35330 plus FDAF and factory fuel.

He refused to go lower. Said he was already barely breaking even. Truecar.com and edmunds also confirms a higher invoice price(unless those sites are rigged or something).

I haven't actually gone over and signed any paperwork so I could still argue my case.

They are making plenty with the holdback even if they sell right at invoice.

If you ran the exact configuration through Edmunds, you got an accurate invoice with the exception of FDAF and factory fuel.

Hey guys... noob here! I totaled my 07 Acura TL a few weeks back and now I'm in the market for a '10 F-150. I was at a local dealer and here's where I'm at so far (w/o negotiating) :

2010 Ford F150 Lariat

$45710 Sticker Price

$41698.92 w/ X Plan Discount

-$4500.00 Rebates

$37918 + TTL.... Does this sound like a good deal or is there something I'm missing???

You can probably do better than X-plan if you negotiate.

So I should try negotiating and not mention the Xplan??? Should I go to another dealership?

Thanks for the info, Couldn't find anything metioning 3 payments or 90 days in any of my paperwork...found this on the ford site about the 1K ford credit offer:

Program #11816:$1,000.00 Ford Credit Bonus cash requires Ford Credit financing. Not all buyers will qualify. Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 10/4/2010. See dealer for residency restrictions, qualifications and complete details.

Will look into this further (calling credit union today!)
thanks again
JB

Back in November, we got the following:
sticker: $34,910
discounts (dealer advertised special) -$9,000
Ford finance: -$1000 (they told us we only had to wait 30 days to refinance)
TT&L: +$1,750

out the door: $26,660

It was a trip. When we first started, all the sales manager could do was about $3000 off sticker. After I got up to leave, the salesman said, under her breath, that there were 5 trucks on the lot that were a special deal. They were all priced $34,910. They couldn't tell us where they were, but that those were the trucks that qualified for the deal listed above. We had to walk the lot of approximately 150 trucks to find them; looking at each and every windowsticker. Two white, a red, a black, and my black/ingot silver bottom. I really hate the games they make you play, but at the time, it was a good deal. The same dealer (Planet Ford, he has two huge dealerships in north Houston) is now advertising $10-12K off all the time. Oh well.

I was told by the dealer that I had to wait 3 months with $8,000.

The dealer must be getting some kind of $$$ kick-back the longer it
transpires.

I'd like to see this penalty for early payoff clause. I didn't sign anything in my contract that states it.

HOWEVER, I can't find the DETAILS of that program offering from Ford Credit.

Ways around that, I'll pay the loan down to $3 and pay $1 each month.

Hardly any interest there!

Dealer gets charge back for that. They should make the buyer wait to pay it off imo. Makes no sense at all. Just saying

If we got the money to pay it off, why should we (THE BUYER) have to wait just so the dealer can pocket a few extra $$$.
Hell, i'm paying interest as it is.

ARE YOU A DEALER ?

They don't get a kick backpack the longer the lone goes. They get a charge back because you took a rebate you shouldn't have gotten in their eyes they (Ford credit) are counting on the customer taking the lone for some duration so they give incentives for people to do this. Ford credit assumes the dealer knows if the vehicle is going to be paid off or not. Ford credit losing money on the interest so they charge the dealer. It has nothing to do with a kick back. I don't know what your dealer told you, i don't honestly understand why they would tell you to wait with $8,000 sounds like they were trying something other then what is being talked about here. Or were you only financing $8000? Either way its not a kickback, its a penalty put upon the dealer because they assume you knew the vehicle was going to be paid off and you still gave the rebate.
