Lots of GM products on that list! Who knows how accurate it is...but I found it interesting that 7 out of 10 are full size GM truck platforms...

If you include the medium duty trucks, the F250 would have been number 2.

Good point. I wonder what the motives are...are they easier to break in? More desirable? Easier to strip and sell parts? Statistics can say anything, so I'm sure most mainstream vehicles aren't far behind the ones in this list.

Don't leave your F-150 unlocked in Houston!

Be glad you own a Ford?

For 2009 in Houston TX, the F150 is second on the hit list, topped only by the Dodge Ram

Good grief! What were those Houston auto thieves thinking?

Most F250's do not have the PATS system. How are they defeating GM and Ford chip key systems? The only F150's stolen from our local members were by tow truck or keys left in truck. We never recovered one with the ign broken down.

On the other hand we have had several GM's stolen without the keys so their system must be flawed. One cop said they just unplug the ign cyl and it will start without a chip key. They also bust the OnStar antenna off the top so it doesn't track the vehicle.

Any truck doesn't even have a chance at getting near the top where I live. It's all about the *****box modded Honda's, Acura's, etc. that get jacked up here. I live in Massachusetts BTW.

Perhaps the reason F-150's don't get stolen so much in Massachusetts is maybe because the Massachusetts auto thieves doen't have enough to choose from. In Houston, it seems like 1/2 the vehicles on the road are pickup trucks, and of those pickups, 1/2 seem to be F-150's. That doesn't explain why Dodge Ram is at the top of the Houston auto theft list. Maybe they are just easier to steal than the F-150's.
