Trim piece warped by heat!

Hi everyone,

Below is a pic of what we found when we got into the truck late yesterday afternoon. The truck was parked with a sunshield inside of the windshield but the windows were not cracked. This has to be from the heat, as the area was not there Friday when I cleaned it.

Anyone else seen anything like this?

I am in Southeastern Georgia and it has been hot. Highs in the low 100's, but the "real feel" is close to 115-125!

That almost looks like there was a bubble or something under there and the heat drew all the air out, kinda like when you vacuum seal a bag or something. Time for a dealer warranty visit.

I absolutley hate going to the local dealer - always trying to find ways to get out of doing warranty work. They'll probably try and tell me I did it.....

UPDATE:

I went to the dealer on Monday - delaer said they had to take pics and send them to Ford for review/approval for replacement. I was told I would get a call on Tuesday. Nope. But I got it today - and Ford denied it. The claim it's from a "chemical". Unbelievable! The dealer says its from heat as well, but now I have to wait for the Ford Rep to come by so he/she can look at it. Apparently he/she is the only one that can over ride Ford.

Anyway, I did get my squeaking rear fixed......

I'll post the results.

From a "Chemical" I think they are on Chemical's. That is clearly not from a chemical.

I was told by the service manager they had to do the "digital imaging" submission as they had been replacing a lot of interior trim pieces under warranty to keep the customers happy. I guess the bad apples make it bad for all of us.

BTW, the part retails for $99 and I have found it for $66 online. I know Ford probably pays about $50 bucks or less for it.

Did you take it to JC Lewis or which Stealership over there? You're in SAV right?
