reverse sensors or camera ?

Hey folks, new guy here, greetings.
2010 scab last month. Thinking of adding reverse sensors or camera.
I don't have nav so there is not an existing screen in the truck.
Here's my gotcha's, I don't want to drill the bumper or have an aftermarket screen stuck to the dash.

Anyone been down this road before ? Suggestions ?

Thanks

add a nav and backup camera. This can be done for around $500 with a decent setup. I have no idea how much sensors are, but they are not nearly has helpful as the camera (I have both).

You should probably read what he typed.

Buy the camera and the rearview mirror screen.

Thanks for your input guys.
I was looking at my mirror, there is a 7 conductor cable/flat connector going into it. I'm thinking perhaps they just run one common part for all ? I looked under the tail for a stray harness, didn't see anything. Anyone know if you would get lucky enough that the harness is already there ? Makes sense from a manufacturing stand point.

I've been looking at options, and I'm gonna buy a 180 deg view camera and a 3.5 inch monitor for my truck. This seems to be the best I can find in terms of viewing angle available plus compactness of monitor for not getting in my way. I'll probably wait a short while for fund availability.

I've been running a Boyo slimline license plate bracket color camera into my Garmin nuvi GPS screen. Working great for me. Nice big screen.

Pics of the gps and proclip mount here in this thread:

I added an aftermarket camera that attaches to the top of my license plate (no drilling), and a camera that clips onto my existing rear view mirror (and acts a replacement rearview mirror) when not in reverse. It's probably the best money I've spent on aftermarket things so far. I have small kids, and seeing them and their stuff when I back up makes it worth the money. Not to mention backing up this huge beast is ALOT easier too.

I have both the backup camera and sensors in my 2010. In my 2007 I had just the sensors. If I could only have one I would go with the sensors. I love the camera but the sensors are mindless and impossible to forget because they're audible. Just my $.02.
