I'm looking at the bed of your truck and it doesn't look like they pulled the bed bolts out before hitting it with LineX. I'm looking for a place that does that, my cousin had his done at a place called Ultimate Bed Liners and they took the box off, disassembled it completely, and sprayed it off the truck. Anybody know if this is standard LineX procedure, or is this shop doing something different.

Mine they pulled the bolts, completely sanded down the interior and linexed it. I believe different shops use different standards.

5 bolt holes in tailgate

I removed the handle/plastic panel and installed the metal panel in my tailgate today. The swap left 5 bolt holes across the bottom of the tailgate that had been used by the plastic panel. Did you fill those holes before the line-x was applied? I thought that maybe 5 more bolts were in order, but I cant see bolt heads on your pics...

I don't remember why but when I went to the Line-X dealer they sprayed the replacment panel by itself, so after reinstalling the panel on the truck it has bolts (screws) that are unsprayed. All the other bolts on the tailgate were sprayed. If you have any open holes I would just order a bag of replacment bolts from the dealer so it looks more natural.

no more tail gate pole! + Line-X

I also have Line-X and its is great. Much better than the liners I have had previously.
Does anyone know if the step can be added to a non step equipped tailgate? I assume the tailgate would have the features already. Any one know if this is the case?

Nah, can't do it --- gotta have a step built in. Might be able to trade someone though.

I'd rather have the pole, I use mine all the time. Looks nice though.

I've got a 2010 white tailgate with out the step. At my age the step and pole would greatly help with my balance. Would be interested in a trade.

Sweet, great thread so bumping back to the top so more people can know about this. Just ordered my cover and 3 packs of the screws from http://www.fordsupercenter.com shipped to my house for $60. They have the exact ford part numbers as posted earlier in this thread.

Now, for those who have had it done how much did you get charged to just Line-X your tailgate?

I was at a stealer yesterday and looked at 50 trucks. Only 1 had a tailgate step.

None had bed steps, installed.

Looks very nice, but this old man with horrible knees is very happy to have a step and a pole. Keeps me from hauling a step stool around in my bed.
