keypad code
keypad code
is the keypad code written down anywhere in the truck, (door jam, engine compartment ect...)
i just picked up my new truck and i didn't think about asking what the code is. i couldn't find it with a quick flip through the owners manual.

The dealer should have given you the card that comes in the owner's manual and showed you how to enter your own personal code. They can retrieve the number with thier computer. I don't know about the 09s up but for the 2004-2008s, there is a label on the BCM that has the 5 diget code.

thats what i was thinking. my 07 had a card in the owners manual case that had it. i didn't get that card. i actually didn't get much of an explanation/tour but there isn't a whole lot of difference between my old truck and this one.
my moms crown vic 5 years ago had a label on the trunk hinge with the factory number on it.
i guess i need to call them up and get the code.

if you had any kind of dealer, they should have given it to you. that being said, it is located behind the backseat. there is a thread in the how-to section, but don't remember its title. i replaced my original handle with an oem keypad. if your truck came with a code, then it is prewired for adding it. it is capped off in the door frame.
also, take note. my number was programmed wrong, so mine didn't work after installing it. thank God, my bro is a ford mechanic and we took it to his dealer, re-programmed and it worked like a charm. good luck.
