Hi all. This was a great find. I used a pair of pliers to grab the pin and the seats came forward as described. I was going to add the zip ties as well, but found that my 2010 SCrew Lariat doesn't have the head on the pins. So I could put a zip tie on the pin, but it wouldn't stay. At least I know how to get to the pin with a pair of pliers.

yep same here 2010 SCrew XLT, they removed the flange on head... also found that you need to snap the spring loaded side back by hand to get it to lock (unless I just wasn't slamming hard enough)

As for the 2010, I have a 2010 FX2 and mine have the head on the pins. They must have changed it in mid year design.

do you also have to switch the spring back to close or does it lock when you press seat back?
Also so far in last few weeks thanks to this forum I have done the USB2 line out to flash drive, LED interior and license lights, Silverstars in the cargo area.

Great mod, thanks. I also have a 2010 XLT with the "new" pin however was able to do the mod. I used some thin wire and slid it between the pin and the hook which locks the rear seat into place when puched back into place. Once through I made a loop at the top to place my finger into and placed some electrical tape around the ends of the wire to prevent it from snagging anything when it's being pulled. I was surprised how much room there was back there.

I assume you are trying this with the seat bottom in the raised position. Raising the seat bottom allows for some extra room to get to the pin. I had to use an end wrench to grab the pin and pull it up to release the seat back.

Trying to pull pin up with open end wrench on the out side pinhead..... no movement..... pull pin Up???? grab pin from inside or outside ??? even used vise grips to provide more leverage on open end wrench..... any thoughts?
