2010 fx4

Hi guys,

Well today I traded in my 2004 ZO6 corvette and bought a brand new 2010 FX4

With 8 month old twin babies I really needed to get a truck that is much more family orientated. This is the 2nd truck I have owned and 1st ford ever and im really liking it. In 2002 I bought a 02 EXT cab Z71 silverado and just sold it to my brother last year.

There are 2 pics of the truck outside and inside on my photo bucket.

Sorry to hear you traded in the Z06, but at least you're riding in a great truck now! Looks great! I like that color red! You're gonna like the truck a lot.

With them giving me a clean slate on the vette since what i owed on it was the actual trade in value,

the final out the door price after taxes and all that was 35,500 and they gave me a drop in bed liner..

MSRP was 40,200

Any advice on some cheap performance mods would be great. Especially the one that add HP and get me a few more MPG

Did you get the Razor Red? And no step bars?

What mod are you talking about?

And I lived in Huntsville several years ago - nice area!

candy red

I didnt want the step bars added which kept it that much cheaper. I took the drop in bed liner. The chrome Westins rusted out on my Silverado after 5 year and made a mess.

I was thinking like intake and best bang for buck exhaust system for starters.

I cant even hear the truck at idle

Im at the Arsenal going to school. Woody Anderson Ford on Jordan Lane gave me a good deal on it

Okay, I hear yeah! I was working on the Arsenal 2004/2005.....lived on the Arsenal as well.

I removed the snorkel tube from the air box (search "Gotts mod") and out a drop in K&N. I haven't done the exhaust - I'm pretty happy with the factory sound. I had dual flow masters on my 06 KR and got tired on the drone. I did get a programmer too.....HyperTech version.

i think maybe a K&N intake for starters. Should let it breathe a little better. Had one on my Silverado. Easy to install and it sure seemed like I got better mileage too

1st of all congrats on the new truck. i just saw that color in person and now i wish i would have waited to get a 2010.

i've been looking at c5 zo6's and thinking about selling the cobra for one but i'm not too sure.

as far as mods go i just got my sct xcal3 tuner with 3 custom tunes from justin at vmp tuning and couldn't be happier. i wasn't looking for more hp but better driveability and getting rid of the damn torque mangement ford uses.

so far i'm very impressed with the way the truck has responded to the tune, not to mention my average mpg has increased by a few mpg's.

good luck with your new truck

Depending on what year your Cobra is, I would keep it. Friend of mine has a somewhat newer one and had his pullied, blower ported, Exhaust, and a custom tune.

A ZO6 will not beat that car.
