I got an '06 model for my '09 truck on Craigslist for just $35. Fits like it was made for it.

That kills me. Cheapest I could find here in Austin was $80. Oh well, far cheaper than new.

Just went to mount mine and realized the center hole in the bed of the truck where the striker goes is not threaded. Should I tap it? The strikers don't look to be self tapping...

Thanks in advance.

The bolts for the center hole are self-tapping. Just don't over thread it or anything, but I was able to just "screw them in" and it worked great.
