I have the black leather and have the same issue with the AC, it takes a long time to cool this large cab. Let us know what you find out at the dealer.

Do you own any other new cars to test. We have 3 other 2009 vehicles and they all seem to take ages to cool. 2 are black and 2 are white. I heard on here a year or so ago that the new ac units were not as good as the older systems because of the refrigerant used was banned by the EPA. Now they use safer refrigerant. Our white vehicles do cool down a lot faster than the black ones though. I mean a lot faster. My white f150 will be cold inside after about 3-4 mins. Our black expy seems to take 20 mins before it feels anything near as cool as my f150. These are both the same year vehicles also.

I wonder if it is the trucks with out climate control. Mine just has two ***** that control the cool and fan speed. Doesn't matter what fan speed, it still doesn't cool, like a 40K truck should for sure.

Got the same thing.

Our AC and heating come from the same box and there is a "blend door" that moves back and forth to adjust temp. Unfortunately the heat is always on. So even though you set full cold and the blend door is fully over blocking the heater portion of the box, the door itself is warm and some warm air gets around the edge and warms up your air a bit. It wasn't always this way.

That being said, some folks have installed a valve on the heater that shuts down the heater from inside the engine. The only downside is if you want heat you'd have to pop the hood and open up your valve.

I can say I don't think it's a cab size issue, although it make take longer to get to the temp. I have an XL regular cab. I just got rid of my old Durango, and I can tell you if I cranked the AC in the the big D (no secondary rear AC), the entire interior would cool down within about 15 minutes. With my XL it seems like the AC is constantly fighting the outside. It takes about 10 minutes to get the cab cooled down, but if I back the AC off, the temp will come back up again quickly.

I live in western NY, so I'm more comfortable in a 50 degree cab than a 90 degree one. i was a little disappointed in the strength of the AC, but I can live with it.

I just got back from the dealer and they said that it is blowing 44 degrees out of the two different vents on MAX AC. However, he didn't check it on regular a/c, because it is not nearly as cold. I hate to run this thing on max all the time, but I guess I am going to have to to make it liveable. When I get to Western, KS and it 110 this summer, it is not going to cut it. Disappointed that a truck this expensive is this lame on the A/C.

I seldom if ever used the max a/c on my 07 chevy. That is the frustrating part.

I just got back from a hour long journey and it seems to do fine on the highway. So I'm guessing that the condenser is just too small for in town driving. Or it's possible that the electric fans in these are too small and don't pull enough CFM. Anyone know what they are rated at? I have a old Mark VIII fan I could hook up to it. Maybe that would be the trick.

Max AC just closes the recirculation door, it has the same cooling ability, just uses cooler air from the cab instead of trying to cool down hot outside air

Oh and to add. The tech told me not to run the fan on high. He said it can pull warm air past the blend door.

I had my on AC on low temp and low fan the other day when I drove an hour on the highway. Suddenly felt the occasional water drop on my right arm as I was driving. Puzzled, I was trying to figure out where water was coming form. Turns out the AC was so cold that condensation was forming on the outlets and every so often, a drop of water would fall from it and be pushed by the air onto my arm.

I turned up the temp a bit after that. So, no problems with AC here.
