Buy a 530T and have auto up and auto down for two windows per unit. Can get them online for under 40 bucks and install is simple if you just stick it in drivers door (under an hour).

I can remember trying to roll up my window at a controlled pace and trying to not let my shoulder move, so people would think I had electric windows.

Also, I would ride around with my windows up in August, so people would think I had air conditioning.

.... but can you stop the travel midway without reversing it? I have a 529T, and it would not have been possible (butI used it to add auto up to the driver's side, and auto down to the passenger window).

Andy

BTW: My '03 LS has auto up and down on both front windows. Should be standard on at least the Lariat and other "premium" packages at this point.

Just bought a 2010 XLT/FX2 and this is one of my 3 very minor gripes.

I think all of the windows should be auto both ways (at least from the drivers seat)
And my second is that they moved the mirror adjustor up to the window seal from in front of the window switches.

OK one more. I hated not having a seperate USB connection for SYNC either in the console or glovebox. So the 2nd thing I did to the truck after swapping the wheels is this...

https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...o-console.html

This is a very simple install that adds a USB port to the glovebox.

I love this truck. I named my SYNC girl "SYNDI".

This is a very silly thread... Why does it matter if you have auto windows??? If they are power windows isn't that enough? Also, I don't get the auto headlights, is it that hard to reach over and turn on the lights? I mean look at the cars in the 70's and 80's where they barely had any automatic features but we all survived. All those fancy features end up not working right after years of use... then everyone cries the blues at the price to fix them and most times when customer is presented with the price they end up not fixing it and say they can live without the feature!!! Why is it when people love their vehicle they still have to complain about something? Sorry for the rant but I'm a service advisor and see this everyday.

Ever had it on a vehicle you have owned?

My grandpa used to refuse to get a car with A/C for the same reasons. Maybe you are just getting too old.

It truly is a safety decision by Ford. We know a ton of cars have auto-up but few have the fail safe if your poodles head is in there. If you think back, remember Fords use to have a power window switch that was kind of a toggle switch... you pressed DOWN on the back of it for the window to go down, and you pressed DOWN on the front of it for the window to go up. BIG PROBLEM because a kid/dog/etc usually leans on the door armrest to lean out the window and would accidently press DOWN on the window button and choke them. That's why you now have to PULL UP on window switches to raise the window. Just an example of little changes for safety. No Auto-up is just another one. Im sure they will figure out a fail-safe that the lawyers will feel safe with though.

It wasn't a safety issue for my Audi. If the glass met any resistance out of the norm it would roll back down. But I guess that's German's for you.

I don't know why it would be a safety issue for Ford when they have that feature on other models.
