new f150 models are to big and ?
Great point about the safety. The '97 model had TERRIBLE crash ratings, simply awful. The thing crumpled up like a tin can, good chance it'd kill you & your whole family in one accident. The '04 on up are very safe vehicles. The '09 up has even more airbags, curtains, k-bags, what have you to help even more.
Sport Trac! LOL!!! yeh, maybe that's more his size vehicle, but boy, I really hate that thing.
I think Ford is discontinuing that thing soon, anyways. We can certainly hope. Better to go with an Explorer- or an Edge, which is new for 2011 and I believe even has MyFord Touch.

That Sport track looks Horrrrrrible. I will never buy a small pickup again. I know it's stupid but I feel like a wuss that sold out in Rangers heh...

That's only because it replaced a decades old squared off design.
Nothing wrong with the Sport Trac. If I was in the market for that kind of vehicle, I would take the Sport Trac over the Avalanche hands down.
Sorry CometFlash, gotta side with Stealth on this one. The '97 F150 was the first fresh idea in truck design from Ford in over 30 years. that's why you got all those compliments. Just like when Dodge came out with the "big rig" look for the Ram back in 1994. That's all everybody I knew would talk about.

trade it in on a a midsize on be done with it. I for one bought my full size and never think it too big and slow....want the 6.2 when it comes out and will get it and put a 4" lift on it. Trucks esp full size are meant to be big ...the new f150 is the best truck I have owned ....
Yep I wanted a full size rig so I got one. The GMC is tiny inside and I wouldn't buy a dodge or a toyota. Ford trucks are the best anyway so the decision was simple. So very happy with mine! So ya, go get a dudge dakota "club cab" and let us know how that works out for ya :-)
Anyway, I had a 99 Scab 4x4 5.4L 3.73. That thing was great. Loved that truck. My 2003 Screw with same drivetrain never felt the same as even the old Scab with an extra 500 pounds in the bed. Now a 2009 Screw will weigh more like 1000 pounds more than a 99 Scab. That and maybe gearing (did you get 3.15 axle ratio in the new truck?) may be the culprit.

Not sure about the head room, our SD has a ton of it, but very true on the leg room! It would be really sweet if Ford would do a redesign on the SD and make the cab more like the F150 Screw. As it stands now I think Dodge actually has the largest regular crew cab in a HD truck, not counting the Mega Cab. It used to be Ford hands down.

From Ford's page-
F150 Height 41.0/40.3 (front/rear)
FSuperDuty 40.7"
F150 Legs 41.4/43.5 (front/rear)
FSuperDuty 41.1"
just as it is. I traded my 98 2 yrs ago for a Jeep Wrangler Sahara and
regretted it the next day but they'd already sold my 98. Sold it less than
an hour after I signed on the dotted line. I see the guy that bought it now
and then and he loves it as much as I did and is caring for it like I did.
With that said, I still like my 2010 FX4 more and everything my 98 5.4 was,
this FX4 is more and better.
That's how I feel about it.
