phone?

So, got my Blackberry paired and set up with sync in my new truck. But, when someone calls me, they hear nothing? and can't leave voice message because they don't hear anything?

What's going on? fix?

Have you tried a different phone?

Did it ever work?

Is the phone in Privacy Mode?

Is the phone set up as hands free device?

I take it if I can call out from the truck using my phone/sync that its working except for nobody can hear me, but I can hear them.

Not sure how to check about privacy mode or hands free device. This is the first time we have tried the phone with sync or any truck/vehicle with sync.

Try another phone. If it works, then the problem is with the phone.

If it doesn't, then it's probably the Sync microphone and it's time to go to the dealer.

Is there a way to adjust the gain on the sync mic?

You can hear me on mine, but it is weak.

Not through sync, but it might be a setting on the phone. Have you had the sync mirror mic replaced via the TSB?

Just tried it with another phone, same problem. No sound going out to others phones....

Is there a setting or something that needs to be changed in the sync on the Ford? I have navigation, so has all sync settings through it. But, can't find anything about mic?

Assuming Sync responds to other commands, it sounds like your Sync module is bad.

Before you take it to the dealer, try removing the Sync fuse for 3-5 minutes. If that doesn't work, then try a master reset.

If neither of these work, you'll have to take it to the dealer.

I don't know of any Sync settings that would mute the microphone, other than HOLD. This would show up on the Phone screen.

Now that I think of it, make sure your phone isn't somehow automatically putting the call on hold.

Yes, all other features work, I can dial out etc. How would I know its putting the call on hold?

I did uncheck "headset" under options and gonna see if that works.

Page 122 of the manual.

HOLD CALL: Press to put an active call on hold to have a private conversation within your vehicle cabin. Press again to take off hold. Note: This is a phone dependent feature.

sorry I thought you meant on the phone itself. I am sure that the sync phone system isn't "on hold" As we didn't select that, and it would say "on hold". which it doesn't.

bummer, I hate to have to take to dealer for this problem. Just got truck...

You could try contacting the Sync support center.

What model Blackberry are you trying to Sync? I use the 9700 with AT&T and haven't had any problems.
