I think I am having the same proplem. I get in and go and my phone connects like normal. Then just about a minute later the phone just disconnects. I have reconnected again and it still disconnects. I still havent taken the time to mess with it.

I would try turning off phonebook auto download.

Does your phone have iOS4? Just about everything they said would work with my iPhone did until I installed iOS4 (indexing took for-frakking-ever). Now the Ford folks are saying they're working on a Sync update to fix the problems.

That'd be nice but hey haven't come out with a fix to the indexing problem in over six months so I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I dont know why I would want to turn it off...I have changed nothing and it worked fine until a week ago. It just started doing it. I should have time this weekend to mess around with it. Until then, maybe the OP will have some insight.

Sync is a computer system. Perhaps the phonebook (on either the phone or in Sync) or pairing is corrupt? Has your phone OS been updated? Have you added any entries?

Simply giving you a suggestion that has fixed a lot of similar problems.

If you don't want to do that, I would recommend a master reset.

I had never had a problem losing connection until I updated my SYNC software. Now, it only connects about half the time when I start the truck. I have to turn off the bluetooth on my phone and then turn it back on for it to work. This is remarkably annoying. I am a salesman, and I am in and out of my truck constantly throughout the day.

Have you tried deleting the phone from Sync and Sync from the phone and then re-creating the pairing relationship?

Check out this chart. It tells you text messaging is not supported for your phone:

Not necessarily. The iTunes default is to not download or install operating system updates unless you request it. I haven't checked but I suppose you can change that and make them automoatic.
