I am guessing that your expy has 3.55 gears. The 10 FX4 will have 3.73's. This and the 20 additional horses will make a noticeable difference.

The 10' 5.4 was reworked to provide more hp, torque, fuel economy, and it can run on E85 gas or anything in between and the 5.4 also has a new technology that improves fuel economy and increases hp while towing. They added a 6 speed transmission which is the biggest change to the 5.4, and they added a new higher strength lighter chassis. There is just too much stuff to list here. You can go on and on with all of the changes and not get to them all. Search on Google for 2009 F-150 reviews and you can read through some of this and get the idea.

thanks for providing some good info and links. I was kind of a ford lean since I currently own a 04 expy w/ 5.4 2 valve and i have 110K on her, never had any issues with our suv. My only complain is that 5.4l is such a dog. Due to my schedule, I have not had a chance to test drive either, but this week, I will definately hit the dealers and check both out.

Is there any changes made from the 04' 5.4l to 10' 5.4L? Oh, BTW, that icon suspension system looks awseome, anybody ever write a review? Any other performance type lifts available for 10" or is icon the best available.
With the 6 speed tranny and 3.73 rear, there will be a noticeable difference. I am guessing your Exp is 3.31 or 3.55.

The only Titan that I have any experience with was a customer's at my old job. It was a nice truck, and he had defiantly done a lot with it.

I can't say that I know much about their reliability or anything; this truck was kinda like the Ferrari in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I see that you are already getting this from us, and from that Nissan forum, but drive both and see what you like better as far as the characteristics and price.

Who cares what the internet says, get what you're going to be happy with in the long run.

Be sure to post pictures either way though!

I've heard nothing good about the Titans since they came out. Get the F-150.

You're going to get some pretty biased opinions on here. I had a 98 Maxima for over 10 years that was an almost flawless vehicle. A lot has changed at Nissan since then, some good, some bad.

The comparison between a Titan and an FX4 is a strange one to me. The Titan kind of seems like smaller less refined vehicle. At the end of the day you need to go and drive both and decide what you like better.

The Titan has a nice engine, but its basically an Altima with a bed. I dont like the Titan because it looks and feels too much like a car. I am an office worker, but even I wanted a truck, so I bought a Ford.

Use Caution.

The 2010 Titan was recalled for faulty brake pins and now they could be recalling an improperly welded lower suspension control link that could crack and fail.

I had both truck, a 2004 Titan SE 4x4 and a F150 FX4.

I would go with the F150 hand down, but the Titan did have more power.

Boy did i like the powertrain on the Titan, way better then that 5.4 in the Ford.

Nissan much like the TuRD in that GREAT powertrain... the rest is lacking vs. F150.

I love how everybody always says that the titan has so much more power...just because something revs higher and feels faster, doesn't really mean it is. I prove this all of the time with my Raptor 700 against all of those high and fast revving 450's on the dunes. The Raptor just doesn't feel as fast because of how it makes the power, but I haven't been beat by a 450 unless it had a lot more work done than I do.

Keep in mind the weight and size difference between the two, obviously the smaller and lighter truck will be faster than a heavier truck with similar power numbers too.

Here is a quick video for proof...

2010 F-150 4x4 with a magnaflow exhaust vs a 2007 Titan 4 door 4x4 with a bully dog programmer, S&B intake, and JBA exhaust.

Yes, the titan is faster...but the modifications are uneven, and the titan only wins by 1 length....not some huge drastic difference in speed and power from what I can see.

I vaugly recall in the pickuptrucks.com 2007 shootout the Titan was faster even with a lot of weight in the bed. was it 1000 lbs... going on memory here. bt i twas much much faster. Did we close the gap with the 09+... a touch.

Wow what a bunch of tools. Clearly they all have buyers remorse. The first truck i went to look at was the Titan. How on earth they can even be compared anywhere near the same league as an F150 i have no idea. They are awful trucks. I could sit here all day about the pro's of the F150 over the Titan but a simple google search for comparisons will show how much better the F150 is. The Titan normally ends up last in nearly all comparisons and the F150 normally first! That must tell you something. But really come on Titan owners don't be bitter about your purchase. You have only your self to blame for buying such an awful truck Go drive a 2010 in both models and well all know which model you will leave with.

The Titan is a fast truck. There's a LOT more to being a good truck besides 0-60 times.......
