HELP! MYKEY is dumb

Well i have a problem and really don't want to have to go to the dealership. So I was going through my menu just messing around and saw this mykey thing, and i thought it was how you make a custom entry code so i enabled it. Well turns out its like a "safety" program i turned on that limits my volume to 45% and sets the top speed to 80 along with some other stuff. Can anyone tell me how to disable MYKEY?

I thought that was an actal second or third key? Can you just go back through the menu and disable it the same way you enabled it? RTFM, lol...

Yes, it allows you to limit the performance for certain drivers, i.e. a teenager. My Mustang has this. However, it has a different key setup than the F-150. I've never tried to turn it on. Now I guess I won't bother!

What if you disconnect the battery for a while. It might just reset things back to the factory defaults.

Pretty sure if you look in your owners manual it tells you how to cancel this feature, and I think it only affects one of your keys.

Yeah well in order to turn mykey off i have to have another key in the truck...........Only problem is that I only have one key and the dealer said a new one is 300. The dealer i bought the truck from is supposed to be mailing me a spare. So unless i want to put down 300 bucks i will just drive slow, listen to quieter music and allways have my seatbelt on. Its not that bad actually, just really annoying.

Yup, you need both your admin keys. Just like if you were to add a third key you need both admins to do it, otherwise you got to pay the dealer an arm and a leg to do it. Thats why I have three admin keys with the key fobs.

My son (17 YO) has the 2nd key. You bet I like the limits, I wish I could set the Top MPH to 73!

MyKey Sucks!

Well playing around with the features on my truck proved to be the dumbest thing I've done since I've owned it. I engaged Mykey on the admin key and now I can never change the Mykey settings again. Unless somebody out there knows something I don't.

Not saying the my key is a dumb feature but my experiance i had was not a good one.. When the wife got her town and country we had to take it back to fix a door lock and the dealership gave us a a focus for 2 days.. We had to drive 90 miles home and i pulled out to pass a slower car and hit 80mph and the sob fell on its face saying my key top speed reached and had a 18 wheeler coming straight for us... luckily i was able to move back in line before getting in a wreck.
