I had a supercab for about 5 years. It was all my wife and I needed before we had kids. Plenty of room for extra stuff in the back seat and occasional adult. But there was not enough room for a family we were starting so we upgraded. Reverse facing child seats + 6'4" tall dad do not mix well in any small rear seat. No, I have 3 kids under 5 back there, plus the capability of a truck for towing and hauling.

 

+1 on pretty much everything already said. In addition, sometimes I can only get out hunting for a quick overnighter, so I just sleep in the truck... Ever try to sleep in the back seat of a SCAB? Works ok for my kids, but not a full size man. Also, try getting your freak on in the back seat of a SCAB... Could be a deal breaker outside a club/bar/wherever...

 

I was looking for a Scab but there werent any within 300+ miles and the cost to bring it out woulda been close to the cost difference. Best move I ever made. I love it!!

Its all about the room. I don't have kids yet, but it was easier to justify buying a new Screw rather then keeping my old ranger. I coach lttle league and when it rains I just put the seats up and all of my gear and team gear in the back.

 

Two grandkids (13, 14) fit well and my wife likes the hooks under the back seat for those plastic bags your groceries are packed in. Also, when traveling, our suitcases fit easily in the back. We have 2 SCrews, mine a '09 Lariat 4x4 and hers an '04 XLT, both with Undercovers, but it is more convienient to just put stuff in the back seat.

 

I originally wanted a white FX4 ext cab but got a great deal on a silver ingot screw. Now see why they get screws. Damn parking lot doors. With the screw I put everything in and leave my tonneau alone. Holy crap with room back there. As my partner pulled me out of the ramp I jumped in the back to the prep area and wow, what a difference. It grew on me now I love it. I am single, divorced, no dogs just friends with lots of tackle!

 

Platinum, King Ranch, and Harley Davidson are only available in Super Crew.

No, I think you misread what he is saying... XL, XLT, Lariat, FX4 are all available in SCREW, but other configurations as well...
The Platinum and Harley are ONLY available in SCREW. No SCAB or regular cab.

 

I don't have a nbs, or even an 05+, but I bought a Screw becasue It fit plenty of people and I can fit tons of gear. I'm 6'5" tall and I can fit comfortably back there. Being able to fit a few big friends and all our camping gear for a week is nice.

 

I like the flexibility of the screw. I can haul the family w/dogs inside and take the camping gear in the bed; all while towing my Jeep! To me it is a good combo. I had a 2002 screw with 5.5 bed and I am very happy with the 6.5 bed I have on my 2009. I definitely notice the improvements inside and out over the 2002. To me this is the perfect family truck that can still haul lumber and crap that I need for projects, but work well during vacation too.

 

For the single guys, or even those who's lttle ladies haven't lost the spark, It's not called a SCREW for nothing! Beats the hell outta the back seat in my Mustang!

Same for loading bags from the store and luggage at the airport. It is a pain doing the door shuffle. I'm lazy, so 90% of the time, its easier to throw bags on to the floor of the back seat than it is to lift it into the bed.

My first 150 was a SC, the SCREW is much better in my opinion now that I've had both.

 

I just like the room. Plus it's easier to get my 11 month old in and out. think Trucks look better with four doors.
