I recently bought the same truck, about $33,000.00.
Print out the report from here http://www.truecar.com/
Walk in there and say I'l give you the lowest price on it plus tax title license or walk.

EDIT: I also got them to throw in remote start and bedliner.

Anything above $35K for a truck is a massive rip off IMO.

Thanks for the web-site, I am going to use this when I get either the 2010 SD gasser or 6.4L. 40k for gasser, 47k for 6.4L

Thought I had a deal for my new SCab Lariat. Haven't heard from the dealer since he went to verify the sell price with his manager. That was 22 hours ago. I've been ****ering for 3 weeks on this truck. They don't seem like they want me as a customer.

I bought a MSRP $45k and was out the door at $40k. Invoice on the truck was $41,500. That's what I paid. Add taxes, tags, and (the completely BS) Processing fee, then subtract your rebates.

You shouldn't be paying more than invoice. Right now there is $4500 available in rebates (this is for a cash purchase that is financed through Ford - WTF). Invoice minus rebates is a fair price and you can probably do a little better.

Thanks for the link!! If this web site is legit, I paid $159 over invoice. Of course that's with X-Plan and $4500 in bonus's and incentives. I really thought dealerships made more money than this. I have always heard the real money is in used cars anyway. Plus I'm not giving them a trade-in either.

Well, I got a call from the Sales Manager yesterday. A few minutes of talking, and he came most of the way to my price. I ended going up an extra $150 over the number I gave them 3 weeks ago. So, sometime early next week, Ill have my new F150 Lariat SC! I can't wait! But it will be sad to see the 97 drive off with somebiody else behhind the wheel.

Congratulations and my condolences. I don't think you will be sad for too long, it's funny how a "new toy" can make you forget your "old friend"!!

What's a Lariat SC, super cab or super crew?

After looking at my dealer order confirmation sheet this morning. The dealership is making more money than I originally thought. I looked at the order sheet and their is a mark-up on all of the options. For example Captains Chairs retail $895 dealer invoice $743, Sony Premium Sound System retail $435 dealer invoice $361, Lariat Plus package retail $795 dealer invoice $660, 20" Aluminum Wheels retail $595, dealer invoice $494.

I don't have a problem in the world with this. I don't expect anyone to work for free, and I find these reasonably markups.

There are all sorts of hidden profit items that can be out there for dealers as well. I have no problem with them making some money as this is why they are there. However, I also don't feel "sorry" for them when they whine about selling a vehicle and supposedly taking a loss. They are making money somewhere or they wouldn't do deals. Occassionally, they will take a loss on some vehicles just to move them and get them off of their floorplan, especially smaller less profitable vehicles.

And, don't be fooled, they make a killing on most used vehicles. Not only do they typcially lowball the trades, but they can get many of the vehicles they sell very inexpensively at auctions and the mark them WAY up. I always look for my trades after I've traded them to see if I can find out what they are being listed for.

SuperCab. It's funny, when I bought the 97 Scab, I needed the extra seating for the kids. When the Screws came out, I wished I had one. Now the kids are grown, and I rarely have anybody in the back again, so I'm going with the Scab again.

I'm going in 1 hour to complete the deal. I wonder how they are going to react to the extra $750 rebate I'm bringing with me.

Here's a preview.

Yeah, I've been looking for a vehicle for my fiance, preowned. And I have to say, it seems no matter where you go, either a big new car dealer or a small used car place, none of them are willing to budge on the pricing on a used vehicle. On new you can get thousands off, but on used, what they have listed, is what the price is. That's it.

Yep. And in my experience, if the vehicle is under $15K, they likely have half of that or just over half in it.
