Hidden Winch

Has anyone tried or thought about putting a winch in the front of the radiator, there is a pocket there, where i think a winch can be mounted, i seen one on youtube that look kicka**

anyone tried it?

IIRC there has been a post about that here .Warn makes a compact winch that fits in there nicely but you have to make a frame for it.

Can you give me some more details on what model that winch is, I have a 2010 platinum candy red, and I am a farmer so im looking for the best way to hide a winch.

That's the thread I was thinking about . There are mounts for older Fords and they use a XD9000 winch with a smaller 50' reel. You'll have to design and build a mount for a newer Ford.

HIdden winch mount

I made it out of a piece of flat steel and cut it to fit the frame then drilled holes that fit the factory tow hooks. I lost one of the tow hooks though. It turned out great i have a smittbilt xrc10 in there. PM me if youe have any questions it was really easy to make and only cost me 50 bucks for the steel and some other supplies like saw blades.
