Warn makes a kit for the 2004-2005 model year. However Ford re-did the bumper for 2006-2008, so the warn kit will not fit. If you did want to put on back there it would be a completely custom job. As far as I know, no one has done it.

Your best options are a full replacement bumper (Boondocks and Roadarmor are popular) or a front receiver hitch with a winch in a winch cradle.

Another option would be a Warn Trans4mer winch mount / brush guard, or a MileMarker Extreme winch mount / brush guard.

I believe the frames are the same between 04-08, so you could retrofit an 04-05 bumper assembly (upper and lower) to your newer truck to fit the Warn Hidden winch if you want to.

Not sure, but I have heard that the hidden winch fits the 06 to 08 as well. Check with Warn. It has some HUGE drawbacks though. VERY short cable / drum, and a small 9K lb winch capacity makes me wonder if it is worth it.

FYI, the hidden hitch only has 50' of line.

Just get a Trans4mer and mount it that way. Mine on the 92' has held up to some serious impacts, and the 05' will be getting one eventualy.

I've looked at doing the exact same thing. It's just a perfect spot for a Fair lead to be, and there does seem to be room back there.

From what I put together, you'd have to relocate the Tranny Cooler, I was thinking about raising it out of the way, probably extending the lines.

The frame rails are exposed nicely. Build some brackets, drill some holes, and mount a pc of 1/4 steel for the winch to mount on.

You would need a more compact winch, and the fairlead would need to line up between the grill correctly, so I think some more research would have to be done there on exact which winch would fit the best, on the brackets you had.

I'm still considering it, maybe mounting a winch that really wouldn't be "optimal" for the truck, 9,000 lb or more, but something I could use to drag some logs out of the way, or give me a boost when stuck in the mud. Maybe a 5 or 6,000 lb or so..

If I come accross a cheap winch, I may have to give it a try...

The hidden winch is like 1,500 buck or more.

i built a winch mount for a mile marker sec9500lb winch. It fits right behind the chrome bumper and the cable comes out of the little hole in the bottom. The only thing is i didn't buy the winch because i need the money for something else lol
