Thinking of upgrading to NBS F-150

I'm currently in an 05. Are the 09's and up a dramatic improvement over the 04-08 models? Thanks in advance!

Coming from an '05 to a '10, I would say yes, there is a dramatic improvement over the 04-08 models. They look similar on the outside, but much nicer inside and a much improved ride to me.

I went from an 06 XLT to an 09 FX4. I liked the 06 and I didn't think the 09/10 could be a whole lot better. Well, it's a huge amount better. You can't go wrong making the leap.

Just a few things that are much better...
Better ride
Quieter in the cab
6 spd auto trans vs 4 spd
More airbags
Safer truck for driver and passengers

Anyone on here who's bought one will most likely say yes, so you're going to get a rather biased opinion here.

It was refreshed enough from 04-08 for me to buy an 09 Platinum, but not everyone feels that way. Some want more power (which supposedly is coming in 11, and some (like myself) were hoping for more dramatic changes in sheetmetal/weight/MPG/etc, and for those people I imagine a 12 will be in order. I'm having a hard time myself deciding on whether to get an 11 with the new EB engine for a 3MPG increase, wait for an all-new 12 with new EB in additional to other weight-saving/MPG-increasing features, or even getting out of the whole 150 race altogether now that Ford is actually making some sweet new cars that get GREAT MPG, especially the Fusion Hybrid whereas I do about 99% of my driving in the city, which makes F150 MPG that much worse. But no Homelink or Cooled Seats for Fusion? Come on. Seriously? I've had Homelink in my F150's for years upon years!

At any rate, I'd at least wait until the '11's are out for a decent engine lineup to choose between. Ford is trying to keep it hush hush for now so they don't lose tons of '10 sales, but everyone on this forum knows it's coming, so it's a great place to find info on the 150 for sure. The Fusion forum gets virtually no activity compared to this one (been checking it out every time I think of spending $250+ on gas every single month to fill this beast up), yet one of many signs this is the vehicle still to beat.

Go drive one and decide for yourself. I think the thing that makes the biggest difference is that new car smell.

I'd suggest you go drive one. We can all talk about the difference but experiencing it is much better.

To ME the difference was worth it. I traded in a 2007 F-150 Lariat 4x4 Supercab on a 2010 F-150 Supercrew Lairat 4x4. The ride, the features, better towing performance, better looks, etc.

THAT SAID.. If you're happy with your current vehicle then I wouldn't rush it. To each their own. It was worth it to me but doesn't mean it will be for you.

There is a huge difference. I remember thinking my '06 was so much better than my '03. Well the same can be said about the '10. It is much more refined, has more power, a 6 speed transmission and many more little gadgets to play with!

Wait until this fall and check out the new engines (3.5L Ecoboost, 5.0L, 6.2L).

I personally don't like the 04-08 model as much as my 03, but the 2009+ is better. I still don't like some things like the taller bed height and the lines in the tailgate suck for detailing. The 6-spd trans is worth so much, but I'm waiting for the new engines.

Thanks for all the input. The better mpg's might just be worth the wait. My Lariat just rolled over 194,000 miles (TICKINGTIMEBOMB)! I may have to buy one tomorrow!
