1. Pressing the master switch (momentary, no holding required) will energize the coil of the master relay.

2. The normally open contact of the master relay will close, energizing the blue circuit.

3. Any window that is open will have a closed (normally closed) limit switch therefore energizing it's respective relay coil.

4. A relay that is energized will provide power to it's respective window motor to close the window and also provides 12vdc to the pink circuit.

5. Any window relay that is energized will provide 12vdc to the master relay coil to maintain it's energized state.

As each window closes it will open it's respective limit switch, which will release it's relay and disconnect power to it's motor.

When all windows are closed, all limit switches open, all window relays de-energized, the master relay will de-energize and the circuit will lose power except to the master switch.

Of course you could use this or a variation of it to operate anything.

Whoa...dude...thanks! It looks like I'll be taking this to someone with far more electrical skill than myself. I've got a buddy that has his own shop...I might have him price this out.

Thanks for all of the info...you rock!

As for the limit switches, you can go cheap and simple...

or fancier and more expensive...

If you are not familiar with proximity sensors, they detect the presence of metal at the tip of the sensor. You could mount it in the door and have it detect the window regulator at full close. The micro switch would function the same it would just have to be mounted where it would contact the regulator at full close. The prox does have 3 wires though so it would need +12vdc (brown), ground (blue), and you have a signal wire (black) with your source voltage (12vdc in this case) when metal is detected.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I guess this is one area where Volkswagen has an edge -

If all the windows are closed, you can put the key in the door lock, and hold it in the open position, and all 4 windows will go down.

If all the windows are open, including the sunroof, when you hold the key to lock, all will close.

Heck, for now, I would be happy with just an auto-up on the driver window!

This is the inexcusable missing bit, to me. For probably an extra $0.50, they could have added auto-up to the already auto-down driver's window. Stupid bean counters...
