Powder coating OEM grille

Thinking of having my 2010 Black Platinum's grille powder coated black. Has anyone done this with their OEM grille? Thoughts.

I have an FX4 so I am not sure about the chrome grills, but aren't they plastic?

Chrome over plastic. I think you'd have problems painting it. Buy a plain black plastic one.

Not sure how well a plastic grill would hold up in the heating process involved in powdercoating

I think it would look awsome to paint, but what about the other chrome parts? Bumpers, mirrors, rear tailgate pannel, etc? Are you going to do it to "black it out" or just the grille?

on this other forum, this guy painted his Platinum grille black. he just needs some Harley headlights to finish off the look. there's also another pic of a red FX4 with a painted grille. Here's the link, just scroll down to see the pics.

The black truck looks good with the black grill. He should paint that gawdy chrome panel on the tailgate to match the front of the truck.
