ATT all SYNC USERS w/ IPOD Touch

Just received call from Ford service. They stated that Ford would cover the re-opening of the USB port only 1 time. After that it is 25.00/incident. IF YOU HAVE AN IPOD TOUCH WITH A SOFTWARE VERSION LOWER THAN 3.0.1, YOU WILL SHUT DOWN THE USB PORT. This was why my Ipod worked for 2 weeks and then just shut off. The Ipod needs to be at least in the 3.0 range of recent Ipod updates. It will work for a while, but then it will shut down the port. It then has to be re-opened on a Ford computer, not Sync or MS. Also, there is now a TSB for the Slip yoke lube and tranny for the "catch-up" feeling we have all been talking about. This as/Haldeman Ford in NJ. Hope this helps a few of us!

Could you please post the TSB for the slip yoke lube? Thanks.

I will try to get more info. dealer just called and now Ford may not cover the Sync problem. like heck they wont. There is nothing posted about which software to use in my manuals. They also had to order a new keypad, and the teflon lube for the slip yoke.

What exactly is the "catch-up" feeling on the tranny? I have occasional tranny issues, so any info would be appreciated.

When you are stopping or coming to a complete stop, it feels like the rear is catching up with the rest of the truck.

Is it like your engine is racing but the truck takes awhile to catch up with the high RPM's that the engine is doing?

No, it just feels like a thump at the end when you come to a stop.

Apple sucks anyway. Just don't buy their crap, and you won't have this issue.

I'll have to disagree on that... I have loved my iPhone for the past 18 months, and everyone else I have talked to loves theirs.

2 day old Platinum here and loving it. I too have the clunk. I thought the issue was with the tranny and just required a reflash. It actually felt a little better today. I just noticed the Navigation is outdated (version 2.0). You would think a new truck would have the latest version. I will have to see the dealer about that. I heard they want big $$$ for the update.

Written with true ignorance. And I'm not an Apple fanboy.

This thread should be broken up into two. One the sync issue and one for the TSB on the tranny and slip yoke lube (whatever the hell that is).

So does your iPod still take forever to "index". This has been an issue ever since Apple updated the iPod / iPhone firmware to 3.1.

For my iTouch it says I have too much music for sync to index and I only have about 175 songs on it. I think I started one of the first threads about the "catch up" issue. This is some good info. because I've just put it in the back of my mind because it only does it sometimes.... for instance as soon as i drive away from the Ford house, BUT not while I'm there... of course.
